Question about Hitachi CP-S225WT Multimedia Projector

Vertical lines on my Hitachi CP-S225 projector

When I turn on my projector I get vertical flickering lines (about 30 of them) on the screen. Sometimes they disappear after about 20 minutes, but lately they have stayed. Doesn't matter what input (video/s-video/RGB) I use. When nothing is connected I get the lines on a blue screen and NO SIGNAL DETECTED. All help gratefully received.

    Thanks for post. Got it looked at professionally and they said the LCD was going. Not worth replacing they said. Sob sob.

I just replaced an LCD assembly today that cured a similar problem. The machine i was working on had flickering and a grainy picture with lines throughout. I tried the main board first and no change, then replaced the LCD assembly and it looks like new again.

Just changed bulbs on my projector a Hitachi cp-s225 wt and i still see a lot of blue and there are lines o green running down the left side

My acer projector flickers after 10 minutes and very hot air comes out from its vents, making it difficult to stand near it and it also show vertical lines.


the projector flickers after 10 minutes ,it seems that the lamp ballast is failing
shows with vertical lines, it seems that the LCD panels are failing or the panels cable not be tightly plugged (panel-cable plugs into the mother board)

Why do I have a green line on the edge of my screen? If you have a thin green line on the edge of the screen when using an HDMI cable to connect to a cable or satellite box this is usually caused by the box.
To test to see if this is a box issue you will want to take the following steps:
If the TV has a Horizontal position setting in the menu you can adjust the position to see if the line disappears.
You can also change the Wide setting to the Zoom or Panoramic option to see if the line disappears.
If the line disappears you will want to look into getting a different source box.
If you have a thin green line on the edge of the screen when using an HDMI cable to connect to a cable or satellite box this is usually caused by the box.
To test to see if this is a box issue you will want to take the following steps:

If the line disappears you will want to look into getting a different source box

Your display may be flickering for several reasons. You will want to take the following steps to rule out the most common reasons for the display to flicker:

1. Reseat all cable and connections to the television from your devices. Physically remove the cables from both the television and the device and reconnect them.

2. Check your Advanced Video settings in the Vizio TV menu some of our Vizio televisions will allow you to adjust the following settings under the Advanced Video settings:

Ambient Lighting

Backlight Control

Advanced Adaptive Luma

If you have any of these options available please turn all of them off to see if this resolves the display flickering.

If the above steps have not resolved the issue please take the following steps in the order presented:

1- Power off TV

2- Unplug TV from outlet

3- Press and hold in the power button on the TV for 30 seconds (while it is unplugged from the wall)

4- Release the power button

5- Plug in the TV into a different outlet

6- Power the TV back on

There is also a factory reset option in your menu under the SETUP section. It will say either "reset all settings" or "system reset". We recommend that you reset all settings as well to see if this resolves the issue. If this does not resolve your problem please contact our technical for further assistance.
If the line stays in the same spot when changing the above settings please contact our technical support.

Vertical line


Hi Abouttime

This is unfortunately a sign of Mainbaord damage to any make of Projector.

But do give this a go , you've got nothing to lose.

Try using a different signal cable and then pressing Auto on either the remote of the Projector or the Projector it self once the line appears.

VW10HT screen filled with horizontal lines until unit warms up (5-10 minutes!)


I have a similar problem with our projector. It help to reverse the output for some reason. When reversed, all horizontal banding disappears.

White vertical line on left side of screen


I had a smililar problem after taking it apart i realised that i had screwed my mount skrews into the video main board and cracked it along with a few soldered wires, if you havent done any physical dammage to it try a firmware upgrade

White vertical line in the center of projected image


I have a Dell 2400MP projector that had the same problem of vertical white lines appearing over the screen.

This may seem like a simple solution, and I don't know if this will work for you, but the way I solved the problem was simply to press the bottom side of the projector, until the white lines disappear . Until now, the problem has yet to resurface.

Here's some simple steps:
1. Turn on projector
2. Connect projector to computer
3. Focus projector
4. If white vertical line appears, firmly press underside body of projector
5. See if vertical white line disappears
6. If not, try slowly pressing other parts of the body of the projector and see if white lines disappear.
7. If solution doesn't work, you may need to send it to the service center.
