Question about Breville ESP8XL Espresso Machine
Problem- After I brew a cup of expresso the filter that sits in the filter holder always has a pool of water sitting on top of the filter when removed. I had another model expresso maker that always had dried coffee grinds when removed for cleaning. The water on top of the filter when removed clearly is a problem and also messy. What can I do to rectify the problem? I've carefully followed all operating instructions, including the grind of the coffee.
My understanding is that this is normal with units like the ESP8XL which use a pressurized portafilter. Non-pressurized units will leave a dry puck of used grounds.
