wiring may not be the problem but try connecting each coil to separate channel and make sure polarities are correct.

If you power up the amp with the RCAs plugged in, does it go into protection mode.

If you power up the amp with the RCAs plugged in, does the woofer pop?

Not enough juice, check the power and ground connections, another possibility is to have dc in the input, try to use in line filter available from radio shack to cut the dc, also test the with one speaker at the time, you could have a bad speaker (shorted) too.

SOURCE: SHOULD I GO AHEAD AND BUY A 400 WATT AMP?

All amps aren't created equal. More exspense amps put out "cleaner" power. You need to know what the RMS power rating is for the amp at 8 ohms and 4 ohms. Also, is the speaker an 8 or 4 ohm speaker? How you wire a speaker or speakers (series or paralell) can change the ohms (resistence) which will change the power put out of the amp. Also, I'm assuming you are setting it up in mono?

What is the best way to wire two kicker comp r 12' s to a two channel amp for max bass?

First, you need to know whether you have the 2 ohm DVC subs or 4 ohm DVC subs. Second, you need to know the minimum impedance the amp can handle (most are 2 ohm, some are less). Putting two voice coils in parallel will cut the total impedance in half (e.g. 2x 4 ohm voice coils in parallel = 2 ohms total). Putting subs in parallel will also cut the impedance in half.
At one end of the spectrum, you could put the 2 ohms DVCs in parallel, then parallel the two subs, and bridge the 2 channels of the amp. That would put 0.5 ohms impedance on the 1 bridge amp channel. If the amp can do 0.5 ohms x 1ch, do it. Otherwise, you may have to run the subs on separate channels.

I have a kicker 10 comp d dvc 4 ohm 600 watt. How do I run a obcon 2000i 2 channel amp to it

You can't. Total mismatch of power and impedance.

You need a mono amp that can push the RMS watts of the sub @ 2 ohm (sub wired parallel).

Best way to connect a 15'' kicker cvr15 4 ohm dvc [single sealed box] and a volfenhag zx-4712 1000w 12'' 4ohm+4ohm dvc to my pyle 885 1000w 4 ch. bridgeable amp and how to wire the voice coils that are in...

best way is to just run the volfenhag with a set of wires for 2 channells(one set per coil) left and right @ 4 ohms per channell. The CVRs you can parallel the coils(2 ohms) and run a set from each sub to the amp in stereo left and right. This will give the kickers a little more juice than the 12 but should be fine.

I want to know the best subwoofer wiring diagram for three kicker cvr 10 inch subs, 2 of them are dvc 4 ohm and 1 is dvc 2 ohm, the amp that i am using is jl audio 500.1 1.5-4ohms stable. can anyone help...

if the amp has a 2 outputs then i would wire the two 4ohms together, and the 2ohm by itself. and if its a 4 channel output then wire them all sepretly, if its a 1 channel output then wire the two 4ohms together and leave the 2ohm sub out

Need to wire two dvc 15 in kicer l7 to 1 ohm

Hello goldy6569,

To wire the L72's at 1ohm, simply connect both +'s and -"s on each sub together. Then connect to your amp terminals.

With 2ohm DVC's, you can have either a 1ohm load or a 4ohm load. The diagrams are here (I know it's the website of a Kicker competitor, but their "wiring wizard" is simply the best).

Hope this helps.

How do you wire four 12 inch kicker cvr dual voice coil, to a 2400 watt 1 channel class d amp

Hello brysonford00,

The wiring configuration depends on what final impedance you want the amp to see. If the subs are 4ohm DVC's, you can wire them to present a 2ohm impedance or an 8ohm impedance. The diagrams are here. If your subs are 2ohm DVC's, the wiring is the same. The impedances will be 1ohm and 4ohms.

Hope this helps.

huge shared common space slot loaded box (size depends on sub 10", 12" 15" you need to clarify that please) the amp specs on earthquakes site say the phd5000 is rated at a max output of 5k watts at 1 ohm 3k watts at 2 ohm so, with 3 dvc 2 ohm subs you only have 3 options of which only 2 will be a usable solution:

1. 3- 2ohm dvc series at sub parralel at amp = about 1.33 ohms at the amplifier this is the best option to get the most power to the subs as each sub will produce a 4 ohm load then wire each one to the amp the amp sees 3 4 ohm parralel loads which = 1.33 ohm so based on the amp specs you would be close to 1200 watts per sub.

2. 3- 2ohm dvc wired in series at sub and all 3 subs series wired together very difficult to wireand will give you a 12 ohm load which is next to no power at all (not a viable solution)

3. 2- 2ohm dvc parralel wired to each other and then at amp the amp sees a 1 ohm load and makes 5k watts max but you can only (REREAD THAT LINE! ONLY USE 2 SUBS IN THIS WAY) WHICH GIVES THE MOST POWER BUT ONLY USES 2 SUBS
