Machine bangs and jumps all over as soon as the drum starts moves

Hotpoint aquarius extra washer dryer, model wd64

It has for some time banged and jumped at the start of the spin but then settled down and carried on ok. but now at the start of the wash as soon as the drum starts to turn the whole thing bangs and jumps all over literally moving the machine then it stops and sits for some time before trying again.

I dont think it is bearings, it seems as though the whole thing is jumping.

could it maybe be the suspension rods?

It is the pulley shaft that has worn out more than likely. Remove the back cover and give the belt a tug or two if there is ANY play at all the shaft has gotten worn on the pulley assy. If it were the bearings I would be surprised as they don't go out nearly as often as the pulley. New pulley and belt should lengthen the life of the appliance considerably. Good Luck

I may be way off beam here, but could it be what we suffered from, when we failed to take out the long bolts which prevent excessive movement of the drum during transport? When the spin cycle started the whole machine went beserk, rocking and banging all over the place. This happened a couple of times before we finally twigged and removed the bolts. All OK now. Thankfully no lasting damage.

Rattle or leaking condensor on Hotpoint WD64

This website has been good to me so I thought I'd post back!

A common problem with the WD64 washer dryer is the condensor working itself loose from the heater box on the top of the machine. This will result in terrifying banging on spin and, if left, screws and rubber seals appearing under the machine. If left longer, as it was with my own, the machine will leak from the condensor to backplate joint at the back of the machine.

The problem is caused by poor fixings at the condensor (the white plastic piece) to the heater (the silver box at the top of the machine). The solution is to remove the condensor, clean it and refit it with new more robust fixings. Hotpoint provide their workmen with a kit of heavy duty bolts, but I did it with a few loose bolts I had. Save all rubber parts as they are riduculously expensive to buy. I had to by the o-ring from condensor to drum backplate and could only get 5 at silly money. If anybody wants one at a good price I'm kolleykibber on ebay.

How do i tighten the drum weights on my hotpoint

Remove rear cover, and you will see the concrete weight at the bottom, sometimes the securing nuts work loose, or break off.
There is also a concete weight in the top of the washer as well,so check this as well

Hotpoint wf740 aquarius 1400 v noisy banging during spin = dust

It could be a broken drum restraint spring, or a worn or broken. or loose shock absorber.
To check the springs, remove the top cover, and you will see the springs.
Another possibility is the concrete weight could be broken or loose.
You need to remove the lower rear panel of washer to check the shockers and concrete weight.

Thankyou.

Dryer does not work drum rotates but does not dry on hotpoint aquarius washer dryer model wd64. all other functions operate ok

Probably open circuit heater element, or thermostat/s
Remove top cover, and you will see the heater manifold on the top of the drum.
It is a long aluminium box.
The element and stats are located here..
You will need a meter to test the appropiate components for continuity.

Thanks.

Loud banging

Several possibilities for noise. check concrete balance wieghts at top and bottom of washer, make sure they are not loose.
Check drum restraint spring(s) are not broken.
Check suspension legs for wear.
Check for loose motor fixings.
Finally, remove drum belt, and spin drum by hand, tjhere should be noise from bearings, if it feels rough or is rumbling , then main bearings have failed.

Thanks.

Drum will not move

Try to remove drum belt, and then turn drum by hand, if it does not turn , then you have either siezed drum bearigs, or some thing jammed between the inner and outer drum
If drum turns freely, then check motor to see if it is free to turn.

Hotpoint aquarius 1100 bangs while spinning

Several possible reasons for this. M/C not level, causing it to move about.
Overloading of m/c.
Loose concrete balance weight, there is one at top and one at bottom.
Suspension spring broken or unhooked.
Suspension leg loose or broken.
Main drum bearings worn, to check this, turn drum by hand and if it feels noisy or rough , then bearings have gone (expensive repair).
There are other possible causes, but these are the main reasons.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.
