Perform the solution below if and only if the printer is connected to computer with a USB cable (do not use for network).
Let me provide you the link from where you can download and install hp diagnostic software in order to resolve the issue.
If your Operating system is Windows Vista than click on link below:
If your Operating system is Windows Xp than click on link below:
Once the webpage is opened click on 'download only' ans click on save and save the file to desktop. Click on 'run' once the download is complete and install the software by following onscreen instructions.
Click on finish once the installation is done.
Once the installation is fininshed Click on Start >> All programs >> HP >> Click on HP Printing disnostic utility.
Once the HP Printing disnostic utility is opened click on diagnose and select your printer model from the drop down list in order to diagnose the proble.
Once the diagnosis is completed click on FIX button in order to fix the issue.
