I just purchased and downloaded the Perfect PDF Creator. My AVG Virus detected an infected file in the program entitle "Win32/Fujacks" and now I can open the program, making it a total waste of money for me. Not happy about this.

Hi Museumandarc,

AVG (and many other virus checkers) can find so-called "Viruses" in files that are NOT infected. I am not going to go in to why they do... but just trust me....they do!

Now, I am not saying that the file was not infected as it does happen, but there are several things you can do to solve this.

1. Do a full scan of your computer.
2. If you HAVE a virus then it was your fault and you must....
(2a) Clean your system.
(2b) Reinstall the PDF Creator.

3. IF you DO NOT have a virus then....
(3a) The file MAY have been infected before you got it.
(3b) The file was NOT infected and AVG just thought it was.

Now.... if you fall in to 3/3a/3b area, you can contact the people who you purchased the program from and ask them for another copy. One that they have screened with a virus checker, not just the downloadable you got last time. By law they have to supply you with one.

Of cause, you really dont know if AVG was wrong, but either way you should still make sure your computer is clean BEFORE downloading it again.

Just one other thing, please go to the AVG forums and follow their instructions for cleaning this virus as you cannot just delete the infected file as it embeds itself in your reg file and will re-infect the computer after a reboot.

Good Luck.

Why when I had a open window and it started flickering it had never done that before and it hasn't again? why did it do that?

You should purchase a security program like Norton 360 or Kaspersky. These have come down a lot in price and it is much cheaper to buy one of these strong high feature security programs than have some paid professional try and remove masses of malware and virus on your machine.

If you are really poor then you can load these free programs
1. Microsoft Security Essentials (google it and it comes up for download but ONLY download this from the Microsoft site and never from any 3rd party site.) This is a very good product.

2. AVG anti virus free edition.
http://www.avg.com/au-en/free-antivirus-download
This is limited in scope. If you want the full deal you need buy the program with all the features.

3. There are many bogus suppliers out there offering free security type software or malware removal; and virus removal programs for your machine. Never down load any of these as they will cause more problems and you will have problems uninstalling them. AVG is safe though.

Hope this helps.

My dell is runing slow

Hi,
The most common causes of a slow PC is:
a)It has been infected with viruses and/or spyware
b)You have too many programs or apps installed on your PC which are running in the background and slowing the tasks you are busy with.

Install a good anti-virus program such as AVG free edition. You can download it for free from www.avg.com
Once downloaded run a full scan to detect viruses and spyware which may be slowing your PC down.
Also uninstall any programs which you are not using.

Best wishes,
Graemevm

My computer is infected with a worm. I think it is named ''Total Security''. Andy suggestions? Can you advise how to remove it. I cannot open any programs.

Hi, Andy.

Reboot your system and continually press F8.

Choose Safe Mode

Login to your account or Administrator

Download, install and run Spybot (http://www.Spybot.com) and MalwareBytes (http://www.Malwarebytes.com)

If still a problem, I'd suggest accessing System Restore and roll back your system to an earlier date. Just note that your data will be rolled back as well.

Hope this helps.

Sad to say that FixYa did not fix my problem.  It was finally resolved when a Borderbund representative advised me that I had to install "Stuffit" before I could download the software.  I purchased Stuffit and subsequently have been able to download the Greeting Card Creator.

Computer problem

The only way to get a reliable anti-virus is to purchase. Use the control panel - add/remove and uninstall any avg programs. Then run msconfig - startup and disable any avg program. Reboot. See what happens. Purchase an anti-virus and load that.

Norton failed to detect worm.win32.netsky. My computer is infected with the virus and I need help. Patti

Hello Patti,

First, you need to update the Norton with the latest virus definitions and perform a scan again. It may detect the virus and remove it.

If it does not, we need to format the hard drive of the computer and reinstall the operating system as it is the most effective way to get rid of the virus.

Wish you good luck
