Akai lct3201ad power don't turn on any more

I turn off my lcd and don't turn on any more

  • Anonymous Nov 30, 2008

While my problem is not identical it is very similar. The screen saver was on when I came into the room, so I hit a button a couple times as the screen stated to remove the screen saver. When it stayed in the screen saver mode, I powered it off. It has not come on correctly since. When you turn it on their is a dull whine and it is as if there is a DVD in there, but there isn't. The black screen comes up, then the blue screen with the AKAI emblem as soon as you can see the AKAI the stupid thing shuts down, and just to make it a little more interesting I do not have an owner's guide/manual and can't troubleshoot it. PLEASE HELP IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!

The solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to [email protected]

Akai tv/dvd combo LCT3201ad 32" auto-shutoff or turns off after 3-5 seconds after being turned on.

Change input device to some other like a DVD player and see.
Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
If problem persists, call in a qualified service technician.

Akai 32" wide screen lcd tv/dvd combo LCT3201AD

This may be an instance were the idea was great but the execution wasn't thought out. I've heard of several related problems that may be related. Both the TV and the DVD player tend to produce heat, not in great abundance, but together a sizable amount of heat. The power supply may have been ample for the TV at first but with the addition of the DVD player was not able to handle the extra load. If still under warranty you're all set. If not you might call Akai and see what they might be able to do for you.

Tramaine, I would suggest a new PSU. I have used ShopJimmy.com in the past with great success. Here is a link to the part you need on their site. Hope that helps! TeeVeeMan2

Need power supply board for akai model lct32d do not know if same as lct3201ad ?

You can have more than one manufacturer of power supply for the same TV model, best thing to do is to actually get the printed numbers from the actual power supply to match it correctly.
Here are the parts for LCT3201AD, see if it looks right: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=Akai+LCT3201AD+&limit=200
LT32D is not listed.

This is not a Samsung/Akai tv, but it is a cheap Chinese "counterfeit" tv. Here is the makers' info:
