I turn off my lcd and don't turn on any more
While my problem is not identical it is very similar. The screen saver was on when I came into the room, so I hit a button a couple times as the screen stated to remove the screen saver. When it stayed in the screen saver mode, I powered it off. It has not come on correctly since. When you turn it on their is a dull whine and it is as if there is a DVD in there, but there isn't. The black screen comes up, then the blue screen with the AKAI emblem as soon as you can see the AKAI the stupid thing shuts down. PLEASE HELP IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!
I don't have any paper work with this TV I bought it from a rent to own store and they had lost it. Could you please tell me how to do this? I would great appreciate it and your time.

The solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
