Cannot start up my laptop since in done an update

i have got an acer aspire 1642wlmi laptop it was all working fine up untill the other night when i went to close it down it said an updated was needed so it dont then then shut itself down auotmatically went to turn it back on the next morning and wont work.it loads up the acer screen then goes onto the windows one and then a blue screen reading stop:c00000l35 (unable to locate componet this aplication had failed to start because user32.d77(or 11) not to sure.was not found) i have tried starting pc up on safe mode and that wont even work what shall i do next??
