im fixing a tv. Sony KV-G21MJ2. i've changed the regulator IC STRS6707 and it works. The next day i turned it on, the regulator ic get shorted, making the fuse to get open. tried to replace it again and it works. but the same thing is happening. today will work and tomorrow the ic will get shorted. i wonder why, could this be an issue of genuine parts? i've already change it 3 times now and still the same thing. need help pls.
In the past, my experience with Sonys is that you need to use Sony parts to successfully repair them. Also you might have a cold solder joint which creates an arc when you turn it on. This arc will cause a "spike" which could possibly take out the regulator. Stargazer

My Sharp 32" tube TV just goes off after several hours on. If I unplug it for a while and then plug it back in, it will work for a while and then goes off. It is about 6 or 7 years old.
