Question about Sony DVP-CX875P DVD Player
After transporting this unit with DVDs still in place, remote control operation resulted in the unit's door simply opening whenever play was selected on the remote. This was caused by jammed DVDs in the carousel. The cover was removed as well as all DVDs. Now the remote will not work. Could not find any loose wires in the changer. The infrared sensor appears to be physically located on one of the pc boards at the front of the unit. The remote control unit has new batteries, and a test of the infrared emitters indicates they are also working. Any ideas?
It could be that the remote is sending mixed signals if multiple buttons were accidently pressed at the same time. You can reboot the remote by removing the batteries, then while they are out, pressing all of the buttons on the front of the remote. This discharges the circuit board in the remote. Put the batteries back in and try it again.
Also, in case you don't have it, here is a link to the manual for that unit:

Try using a Laser Lens Cleaner disc - get the "wet" type that uses fluid. Target stores carry an inexpensive one.

I just got one of these and i notice mine does the same thing. WHat i found that helped mine is tip the unit back a little. The loader uses a little but of gravity to get the disks to roll back into the loader. If its level the wheel sometimes cant spin the disk up into the loader fully. If its tipping back a little the disk will roll back easy into the loader and load it properly.
Also, dont forget if your playing a disk and you want to stop the unit, DONT POWER IT OFF AT THE UNIT. Power the unit off by the remote power this way it will finish its cycle and put the disk back into the proper slot.

Problem was solved by Holding down the "ENTER" button for no less than 10 seconds and after releasing it press "SYSTEM MENU". This will take you to the setup screen on your TV.
where all settings can be made from there by following the on screen directions.

maybe the spindle motor is defective so it cannot read the disc. just bring that your dvd to sony service center to fix your dvd.
