I have a blower but I will check again the thermostat wiring to make sure is okay

  • cotillionsor May 11, 2010

all systems have a blower. Does it use gas to heat or only electricity?the wiring is totally different depending on which it is.

  • cotillionsor May 11, 2010

sounds like you may have wired the tstat wrong is this a heatpump or gas furnace. assuming heatpump by you stating airhandler instead of furnace you need to verify wiring at tstat and some you even need to go into the installers menu to tell it if it controlling a hp or gas furnace. please let me know how you have the tstat wied and type of system and i can help further.

How to stop the fan of rth6300 thermostat

If your fan will not stop, it could be caused by several things. It could be the contacts inside of the thermostat sticking. It could be caused by the fan mode switch in on versus auto. It could be a sticking contact on the fan control card in air handler or a stuck contact in the fan control head if it is a X13 or ECM motor.
First, easiest way to see if stuck contact on the thermostat, gently tap the thermostat, this sometimes adgitates the contact and allows it to open. If this works you need a new thermostat.
Next problem is checked on the themostat fan mode switch, it should be in auto. I have had several customers who inadvertantly pressed the fan mode switch and did not know they had done it.
If the fan is still running, the problem is in the air handler fan control card. There is high voltage in and near the fan control card and I would recommend getting a professional to check it out. The voltages in most thermostat is about 24 volts and even though it can tingle you it is not generally harmful. The high voltage you get into the air handler can either be 240 volts and in commercial unit it can be 440 volts.
Hope this helps.

sounds like installer broke on yellow wire between thermostat and condenser. your switch is breaking the 24 volt signal to cobdensor when the internal float is activated. moving the switch is somehow allowing bobber to drop enough to reactivate 24 volt and condenser comes back on. refrigerant starts to recirculate again and thats what your hearing in the lines. the switch prevents evap coil pan from spilling over into your return when the drain is clogged. use a shop vac and clear your drain. i blow it out with compressed nitrigen. after line is clear prime it wuth 32 oz of water.

I have the T8775 model and the display went blank last night. Now the A/C is not coming on. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix it or what happened to it?

It is possible the batteries are dead in the t-stat.
If batteries are good check the power to the air handler.
If power is good the air handler transformer may be bad.(high voltage in and low voltage out)
If transformer is good check all low voltage thermostat wires especially red and blue.

Changed batterys in the tstat now air handle will not run

Turn the Fan switch to On, if the fan does not run,
either the thermostat is not telling it to run or you have blown a mini fuse in the air handler, assuming
you have no readout at thermostat.

disconnect thermostat wires and try to Jumper between R and W or W1. Remember to shut power
off before you start. If the air handler starts the
problem is either ther thermostat or thermostat wire.

Goodman SSX16 split system not working

Defective thermostat wire.
Defective contactor.
With the t-stat set for cool and turned down on a low temperature, check for 24 volts at the contactor low voltage hookup. If you have 24 volts, replace the contactor.
You can manually close the contactor to make sure the high voltage is going through it.

Lennox CB26UH Air Handler stopped running

Do you mean the air handler fan doesn't run but the outside part runs? If that is the problem, try turning the fan blade with a stick. If it turns freely, you have an electrical problem. It could be a relay, a bad motor winding, a bad capacitor, or a bad thermostat, among other things. If the fan won't turn, the motor needs to be replaced.
