Don't know brand, but most all will not work unless lid switch is functioning. Check yours. Thanks, please leave feedback or contact me again for more info if you need it.

Washer will fill up and then nothing almost sounds like the timer

I assume the timer is mechanical instead of electronic--try turning the dial slowly through the full cycle positions. You should get motor operation at some points along the dial. If the motor never reacts, look for a circuit breaker button on the motor near it's wiring entry. With the power plug out, try turning the motor shaft to make sure it is not bound up. If the motor does run at points, then probably the clock motor on the timer is bound up.

My top load washer after the washer fills with water and starts the cycle it stays at the agitte stage. have to move the dial to drain and then move the dial to rinse etc. is this the cycle dial that has...

It sounds like the timer motor has gone out on your timer and you will have to replace the timer itself. If you get the model number and go to www.sears.com you can pull up a diagram of your unit and order the timer for it.

Welcome to fixya.

First, turn the control dial to proper cycle and pull dial out to start the washer. If
equipped with buttons, be sure they are fully depressed.

Asko 12605 overheating the wash water

(even not taking in hot water when filling before the wash stage which seems good)

The washer fills with cold water then heats it up 3 degrees a min. Your problem does sound like a faulty thermostat. Especailly if the glass door does get hot even if it is on 85f.

Cycle never finishes.

we have an issue with one of three things
on the sides of the lid the hinges are bolted to the lid with 2 screws on each side
ferify that the secres are tight
if so then you have a lid switch that needs to be replaced or the water pressure switch in the console is bad

Kenmore 22956 top loader quit running after agite cycle

If the timer cycles your lid switch is ok.
most likely: motor Switch (on Motor), condenser next to motor, motor itself, or wiring going from the time to the switch,

It is probably cost efficient to replace the unit rather than trowing parts at it .

Maytag Neptune Stacked unit door leaks

This can be caused by water collecting in the door to tub seal. Best repair would be to replace the door seal.
