Kenmore Elite HE5t washer - Door is hard to open and close

For some reason we have a hard time opening and closing the door of our washer. It started 5 days ago. Does anyone know what we can do to fix this?

Thank you Jess but if that is the case how do we fix it?

It may be sprung in the hinge or there may be a tiny piece of debris causeing the door to hang when being opened or closed.

To fix I would suggest cleaning all edges of the door and the seat (area in which the door rest). Use a finger and feel all edges to check for debris and or an irregularity. If none are found visually check the same edges for chipped or scatched paint that may indicate a point of contact. If none are found open the door and gently pull on it to see if it has play or movement. If a lot of movement is discovered then a new door or possibly a new hinge should do the trick. I hope this helps and good luck.

Kenmore elite HE4 moldy smell

keep door open after you use it....keep them open until you use it again.... door can be opened just a little, but can not be closed

let machine work once with highest temperature without anything inside..... with little detergent you always use.....to wash away that smell...

if you keep it closed, then moisture will remain in and provide good environment to bacteria causing black mold to live there.....

you can remove that only mechanically..... take some old dry dampcloth and wipe it away.... it will take some time and hard work.:)

Kemmore elite 3t has error code f and will not drain

Check your door when it closes, it should hit a push-in button above that door latch, at times I have seen the door hinge bent down just some, causing the door not to strike that button dead on.

If thats fine, then its likely to be the door latch assembly or the CCU board bad.

The code is a door lock error!

We have a kenmore elite he5t front load washer, that i just finished replacing the bellow on. after reassembling the front panels, i tried to start the washer to run a cleaning cycle, but all that happens...

Thats usually a sign that the door is still open. Make sure that when you put the bellows on the ring that goes around it was put on properly as well that way the door is actually fully closing engaging the door swithch and letting the machine know its ok to run.

I have a Kenmore Elite HE5t and the code F26 keeps coming up Please let me know what that is My acct is under the phone719-465-3853

The door switch sensor button may be sticking in the closed (pushed in) position. Try to get it to spring back out. Otherwise the washer computer "thinks" that the door has not been opened for three cycles (F26).
