The blower does not run at all even set in the on position

I found the relay that runs the blower motor. the motor tries to come on but does not turn. I taped on the relay that leads to the motor and the motor started running. So im going to try and find the relay today and see if it works.

Follow the wires back from the motor to either the relay or the circuit board. normally a furnace has a board. check to see if there is any power leaving relay/board to the mtr. if it is a furnace you may need to push in the door saftey switch to get power to system. heat pump mtrs need 230 vlts furnaces 115vlts. If the power is going through to mtr properly than problem is either capacitor or mtr. capacitor can be checked for you by a local hvac supplier or buy a meter that can check it.
PLEASE rate or solution thanks. Brian S.

if you do as i suggested it will let you know the problem it takes my about 30 seconds to trouble shoot this problem when i show up.

you can bypass the relay for now. if you take the wire sending high voltage to the relay and the one to the moter cut off the spade connectors(buy some to replace these and wire nut them together the blower should run constantly which will let your heater cycle on and off till you get the relay. make sure to turn the power off! first please!

BLOWER MOTOR DOESN'T SHUT OFF

Hello, if the only way to shut off the motor is to turn off the main power then the relay on the integrated control board is faulty. You can try tapping on the relay to turn it off but eventually the board will need to be replaced.

Fan will not come on and makes a humming noise.

I'll assume you don't have electric meters. I'd first try it in heat mode if the blower runs. I'd guess the blower relay or the high speed winding is burnt out. If it doesn't run in heat mode most likely the motor is bad.

Replaced the blower motor on a Carrier a/c unit x421892 after motor seized and tripped breaker. New motor runs fine but runs continuosly when put in the auto position. The motor still runs even when...

Hello The new motor sounds HOT wired. It must have one leg connected to the blower relay. If it is off the relay(correctly) ,the relay is stuck/welded and should be replaced. In the blower unit.

RUUD UBHA-14 J11SFJA air handler. The fan (blower) doesn?t runs

Absolutely, however, you want to properly diagnose the reason why the fan is not running. It could be a less expensive part than the fan motor itself.
First, check to see if you have the proper voltage going to the motor. I believe your motor requires 240volts ac. If you do not have 240 volts, you have a control problem.......either the thermostat is failing to close R & G or your blower relay may have failed to close the contacts necessary for your fan to operate.
If you have the voltage, then you want try spinning the blower wheel with your hand. Does it spin freely? Is the motor warm/hot? If so, turn everything off for an hour or so. As soon as your energize it, try spinning the motor with your hand again.....if it spins freely with no resistance and then starts running by itself, the problem is the run capacitor (approx $20.00 depending on where you purchase it from). If there is resistance when you try to spin it, the problem is most likely with the bearings and you will need to replace the motor.......if you have to replace the motor, go ahead and replace the capacitor also, making sure it is properly "matched" with your new motor.

I hope you find this to be very helpful to you, moving forward. :-)

2002 trail blazer heater fan quit blowing

Check to make sure it doesn't work in all speeds first
Check fuse and relay second
Solution for the first if it works in higher speeds but not lower speeds is the speed control resisters. If you found the fuse and relay to be good then you have a bad Blower motor more than likely. If the blower motor is bad and you have another car to use try checking ebay for the blower motor the parts on there are fairly cheaper most of the time but you'll have to wait for them to be delivered.
Good luck and I hope this helped

Intertherm electric furn.my blower motor locked up so i replaced

If you can explain where each wire from the motor goes I might be able to help. This way were on the same page. You may have 2 speeds comming on at once. Use an AMMETER to see if your running over amps and be sure you check it with the blower doors closed and clean filters all these can affect correct ammeter readings.
Other wise remove all wires (except the one going to the normally closed contacs on the fan relay, and the 1 going to L2 (usually called common) and the 1 or 2 going to the run capicator this may;leave with 2 to 4 wires. Tape them up sepperately and try it again. If it improves and workd mor correctly youmay have a bad relay. If it dosnt you may have a bad relay or sequencer depending on how its wired.
If this helps PLEASE GRADE ME ACCORDINGLY and GOOD LUCK.

Blower won't kick on

My guess is the FAN RELAY has loose contacts in it Trace the wires from the motor to where they tie in 1 will go to the power cord (this in L2 or Nut) The other 1 or 2 wires will go to a fan swich/relay or a rotary hi limit fan acutator sw. This rotary fan sw has a lot of cousins. On some Carrier Bryant Paynes and or Day Night furnaces that are over 20 years old the fan switch is a small rectangular cube with a seperate heater inclosed in the rectangular box. This fan sw could also be your problem but Im betting on the fan relay. It usually Click when you turn the Fan from auto to on. And the wire G goes to it (eventually)from the thermostat. CHeck this when its acting up. You could jump around the relay going from the L1 feed on the relay to the Closed motor speed.

I doubt you have a bad fan motor. But I could be wrong. Usually they have a smell associated with a bad one and you dont mention this.
