Question about IBM ThinkPad T43 Notebook
I have T42p and it has recently developed a problem. The laptop would poweroff (not shutdown) completely if it was moved/or lcd was touched. I would then have to remove the power and the battery and reinsert ...then it would start....otherwise wouldnt power on even. I took out the keyboard and all the ram, even the bluetooth module, harddisk and dvd drive. and gave them a good blow.....now it is wokring much better.....But now the problem is still in that area.....if i apply a bit of pressure (not too much ) near the IBM access key on the keyboard or the upper left side in general it powers off again.....I have tried to see if there is any thing loose but apparently not.
It sounds like you have a lose connection. I wouldn't really be most likely under the keyboard but probably under the strip that is above the keyboard. That strip would need to be removed and reseat the connections. You might need to have a shop do that if you are not comfortable with taking off that piece.
Hope that helps,
