Toshiba Satellite A105 screen flickers, goes erratic, crazy, whatever you want to call it when:

    a) the internal wireless card is turned on OR
    b) an external PCMCIA wireless card is plugged in

It works fine when using an external monitor (after rebooting). I've heard that this might be a shielding problem with the ribbon cable feeding the LCD, but don't know for sure.

Screen stopped working

If everything else appears to run normally, hook a spare monitor to the video output on the back, if picture okay! the LCD screen in the laptop is the problem, caused by a defective inverter board,"located under screen" or the backlight behind the display has failed.

I have vertical bars on screen

Hello,

The T CON board of the television is bad, you need to replace this
The T-CON (Timing Control or LCD controller) board (on the LCD panel assembly). It transfer the universal image signal of TTL and LVDS signal to specific TFT (Thin Film Transistor) LCD.
This is the interface board that talks to the Logic board and the LCD panel to produce pictures on the screen. White/gray glowing screen when it fails or not getting the voltage from the logic board (the 5 or 12vdc is supplied by switched transistor on the logic board). Notes: T-CON board is mounted under the metal cover shield.
Common failures:
Scrambled pictures, Lines, multiple pictures, color smears/blotches, rolling pictures after warm up.
Blown surface mounted fuse.
No pictures, very dark screen almost like there is no backlights.

Hope this helps........

No lcd picture external monitor ok

The LCD screen has failed on your laptop, it needs to be repaired by an expert.
I have found that there is an internal power supply, just for the LCD screen, and this goes faulty.
Replacing it means the whole laptop does not have to be junked.

TURNING ON BUT NO SCREEN DISPLAY

Did you try to connect to external monitor see if you get picture?
If does, You need to look very close the laptop LCD if you have seen any shadow pictures? if does your Inverter or Bulb is Gone. If no pictures on external, Your graphic card is done.

Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-CR240E LCD screen flickering

Mostly it is the problem of the screen's internal mechanism. Something has got loose and moves here n there when moved. If you can, you replace the malfunctioning parts or consult service centre for it.

My monitor screen keeps flickering on and off. is there something that can be done to fix this?

You could have a faulty inverter or a CCFL lamp, To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

LCD failure

If you have a desktop monitor plug it up to the back of the laptop. Press the fn + the (f function key)ex.. f5, f6 or the one which shows a picture of a monitor. If you get something on the monitor screen.... then the problem is either your backlight or inverter board. Hope this helps
