Question about Computers & Internet

Monitor Blinking My LCD monitor has been blinking (2 sec blank - 1 sec on) for a couple of days now. I connected the monitor onto another computer and it still blinked. I also fixed another monitor to the same computer and it worked fine. I changed the power code and switched off speakers and no difference. Any suggestion fix would be appreciated. I think this is a software or OS issue I have a KVM switch with 2 CPU in one I have WVU and the other has WXP. In the Vista CPU, the monitor blinks but in the XP CPU don't. Anybody can help.

HI SrFixer -
Since you were able to attach another monitor to the computer and it worked, that would indicate that the problem is not a computer problem but a problem with either the monitor or the monitor cable (data). Try another monitor cable on the monitor that didn't work and see if that works. If it still does not work, then I am afraid that your monitor has gone bad and needs replacing.

Hope that helps

Michael

If you know how to open it up and get to the power supply you will find three capacitors 2-820uf and 1-330 @ 25vdc 105o.they will have puffed up tops replace them. FYI the monitor has a 3 year warranty.

But to be sure try it on another PC see if problem follows, if NOT then maybe ya Video card is starting to bug out?

I had the same problem. My LCD ViewSonic VX 924 has been blinking

For repar it i changed the following capacitors : 100uF/400v
330uF/25v and 330uF/35v

if that always flickers you can also change the two 470uF/25v capacitors
