SOURCE: HP zd8000 will not boot on battery

If every thing is correct ( the Battery, the AC adapter, etc ) then also the Power light is not turning on, then somewhere the power is not transmitting. The laptop must have a internal connection Breakage. Oh, I saw that you didn't mention AC Adapter. Have you checked it. Also check the the Control Board of the Laptop. Better you give it a Servicing.
Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

Hi my battery only lasts up to an hour, how do i

Well it should last between 3-4 hours if new.

Batteries need conditioned . You fully charge them and then run them fully down. 1 hour seems pretty short. As a rule, don't run them on battery while plugged into power.

I have no better solution than this.
I have HP PavilonDv4000.My batery show charge 96% total time remaning 5min.I have new battery first chrge the battery fully.Second, discharge the battery completely. And this battery can't be charge any...

Try another known good working battery and if it doesn't charge and hold the charge properly,

If that doesn't work, try another know good working ac adapter to see if it is actually charging the battery properly.

If that doesn't fix it then you know for sure at that point the motherboard is bad.

My laptop frequently going out of power for every 15 minutes it requires booting

By going out of power, do you mean the battery dies? Or is it shutting down even when it's plugged in?

Special equipment is necessary to check the battery of a laptop computer. The equipment will test the charging ability as well as the performance of the battery under the standard "load" of operating the computer. If yours is no longer holding a charge, or the charge lasts only a short period, it's very likely that the battery is simply worn out. Typically expect that if a battery is more than 2 years old, you'll be running out of life for it. Some batteries last longer, some much shorter. For example, Toshiba's Tecra series batteries seem to wear out and drain their charge quickly after about 6-12 months, needing a new battery.

If the battery is less than a year old, the manufacturers warranty may stipulate free replacement.

You may find a local computer repair shop that will test your battery for free since it's very simple for them to do.

Hope this helps, good luck!

I suggest that you take it back. You should be able to swap it for a replacement.

you didn't mention how long you are using this laptop, i mean that approxmite age of that laptop. problem you mentioned upper can happened for cause given below:-
1) if battery damaged.
2) if battery internal circuit out of order.
3) if battery internal one cell out of order.
open the battery case then if u have proper idea about AVO meter operation then u can check battery by measuring battery current (per cell) plz. then u can find out which battery is out of order, another think is u can check it by replacing saim battery unit.

HP Pavilion ZD8000 - Battery

i have the same situation. The workround I use is this...
Method 1
Start the laptop with the mains disconnected
Once Widows is running plug in the mains adaptor
The battery will charge correctly, the laptop will run on the battery if the adaptor is unplugged

Second method if the battery is flat
Start up with the battery removed
Once windows has started - plug in the battery
The battery will charge correctly

I have found no permanent solution so I use method 1 mostly

HP pavilion zd8000, Battery not charging

The problems with the HP Pavilion (Particularly the ZD8000) are sadly well-known by HP. It's not a problem with the battery or the charger or anything you can easily fix. The problem is heat. If you search long enough, you'll find hundreds of people with three problems: 1) the battery stops holding a charge after about 8 months, they buy a new one and get the same problem; 2) certain keys stop working on the keyboard, they remove the battery and the keys work again; 3) permanent lines start to appear on the display and never go away.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about these problems with the ZD8000, except stop using it as a laptop and ditch the battery. I have been problem-free since I ditched my third battery and just use it with a power cord.

Last year, I filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding HP's failure to acknowledge this problem and recall the machine. Each time I called service, I was instructed to follow the battery initialization procedure. All this does is allow support to get rid of you for 24 wasted hours, after which you have to call again and talk to some one new who tells you to do the same thing. The problem is, the procedure fails because the battery won't hold a chage in the first place. If you get to the end of the procedure with them after wasted days, they tell you to buy a new battery.

The HP ZD8000 is defective and never should have been released with a Pentium 4 processor. It's too hot and fries the battery and damages the screen.
