It is located at the top of the range. usually is a combination with the clock and the control board. No you should not need a tech. Just remember always turn the power off

Frigidaire model FEC30S6ABF front burner wont turn off

Hi - From what you have described the range could possibly be experiencing a faulty element/sensor or the communication to the element from the control board is now compromised. If you are referring to the left front element, the part number is 318178110/MSRP: $65.86. Right front element, part number 316224201/MSRP: $89.60. I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately and properly diagnose the range.

Bottom oven element not working, how do we fix it?

If this is an ELECTRIC range, more than likely the bake element for the oven is defective and needs to be replaced. The following link explains how to replace a heating element on an electric range:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575810-replacing_the_bake_or_broil_element_in_a

Since all the oven features on either a gas or electric range are controlled by the Electronic Range Control (ERC) board, and the broil element (I'm assuming) IS working, it may be safe to assume this is not a control board problem.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
appliancepartspros.com
pcappliancerepair.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I have listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need.

NOTE: The ERC is also known as the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board on some models.

If you have questions about this repair, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

ERD30S- oven wont turn on

Hi! jpdufilho
Try tuning off the power to the unit for 20 minutes. If this does not fix the problem you may need a new control board/panel. If you have a lot of lightning in your area you should have several surge protectors in your house. All electronic devices need some type of surge suppression.

Baking element

oh bleep, right? well, if you're lucky this will get you going again. 1. disconnect power to range. 2. remove back metal cover just above range power cord (usually 5 quarter inch hex screws) 3. look for burnt off wire leading to/from bake element. If yes, 4. strip ends of broken wire and splice with ceramic wire nut if no 4. bad news. replace ERC (electronic range control) you fried something on the board. It's got the clock display and all the electronics behind it.

Kitchen Aid KESC 307 hbs4 electric range control

CESAR, THE OVEN CONTROL IS THE CLOCK,HOWEVER, ON MANY KITCHEN AID RANGES, THERE IS AN INLINE FUSE 15AMP, THAT IS IN THE OVEN CIRCUIT. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT THE INLINE FUSE BE CHECKED FIRST BEFORE CONDEMNING THE CONTROL.

DAVID, THE GLASS TOP ELEMENTS ARE CONTROLLED BY THE SURFACE SWITCH FOR REGULATING TEMPS. THE SWITCH WILL TURN THE ELEMENT ON AND OFF TO REGULATE TEMP. I WOULD SUSPECT THE SURFACE SWITCH(WHAT THE KNOB IS ATTACHED TO) AS THE DEFECTIVE COMPONENT. THERE IS A HIGH LIMIT SWITCH THAT IS PART OF THE ELEMENT. IF IT WAS BAD, THE HOT SURFACE INDICATOR LAMP WOULD BE LIT ALL THE TIME.

THE ELEMENT IS NOTHING MORE THAN A COIL OF WIRE THAT HEATS WHEN CURRENT IS PASSED THROUGH IT.
IF IT WAS BAD, IT WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING AT ALL.

These units are not fused. Everything is controlled at the control panel via relays. To assist you in finding the problem I need to know which element is not working.
