Re: c drive full 1 gb left acer aspire 5630 laptop vista...
To answer your questions:
can i move my documents to the d drive by default
You can do that yes. However its a case of HOW you want to move them. If you are wanting to SAVE NEW documents then you simply point the application to the d drive and it will always default to that area when you next want to save.
But for moving documents that are already there on c drive you must do that yourself. If you use Windows Explorer or Norton Commander etc etc you just have to open the drive up....goto where your files are....and then simply copy (or drag them) to the place on your d drive.
will itunes send the library by default if i do this
Again, its a question of next time you save your tunes just point the download at your d drive and it will remember.
One other thing.....
I dont use itunes software but I would like to bet that there is some function in one of its menus that lets you set the default download area. So best check your software too to see if you can set it up within it.

When you need to restore your backed up iTunes Library from your external hard drive to your computer, follow these steps:
Quit iTunes. Locate your external hard drive. Mac: On the Desktop or Finder sidebar. Windows: In My Computer
Drag the iTunes folder (backed up earlier) from your external hard drive to whatever location you desire on your internal hard drive. It is recommended that you choose the default location for the iTunes folder, which is:
Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\ Windows Vista or Windows 7: \Users\username\My Music\ Open iTunes while holding down the Option key (Mac) or Shift key (Windows).
In the resulting dialog, click the Choose Library button.
Select the iTunes folder you just moved to the internal hard drive. Click Choose.

- is the BIOS set to boot from the hard drive ? - have u changed any drive setting in BIOS (sata mode, pata mode ...) - try to boot with a linux live cd, or with the vista dvd and see if they can see the drive ... if thay can, than most probably a reinstall of the OS would fix the problem, if not , check the BIOS settings, also make sure that the drive is properly fixed in it;s place, if posible test it on another laptop to be sure if it;s causing the probems or not ...
