Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, the unit is reverting to protective mode to prevent further damage. This could only indicate that the unit has sustained some damage electronically and therefore would require service. There are no reset other than to unplug from the mains for an extended period of time.

A concerned note, the Grundig ARGANTO 82 MW 82-505 IRDT/DPL VNM TV is about 8 yrs old. Depending on your location, replacement parts and service personnel familiar with this brand and model might not be that readily available. Sorry, but you may have to consider other options other than repair.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

That means that the TV detected an internal error and started a protection switch.

The protection swithc now is preventing the TV from turning on.

Try first unplugging power cord for ten minutes to reset the unit.

Modern TVs have an inside device calld protection circuit.

When an internal error , like for example a bbad voltage, a short, or a defective component (IC , capacitors etc.), is being detected, the TV protection circuit will start an automated switch that turns the TV on standby to prevent further damage.

Sometimes the internal safety switch is just jammed because hit detected an incorrect value.

In this case you can fix the problem and wake up your TV draining power from TV completely, by leaving the power cord unplugged for a while.

Try first unplugging and waiting ten or twenty minutes.

If that does not work try leaving the cord unplugged for a longer times, let say two to three hours, to drain power completely and get rid of electrostatic charges on internal circuits.

If the TV does not restart after this then that means that there is really a faulty part inside that must be replaced.

Common problems concern the power board, the convergence ICs, and, depending on the model the deflection circuits.

The tv must be taken part, tested thoroughly by a technician, and the faulty part replaced.

If you decide to call a technician, or you need to validate your warranty, or to buy a warranty extension, you can ring the phone number listed on the owner manual.

Mitsubishi DPL TV model wd73c8, serial 100759. The tv will not turn on & has a solid red light in status.

Try to turn it on manually by the power switch - not by using the remote control. Try to unplug it for an hour or more to discharge the power system, then try again.

Technika 22-700 standby light flashing

How many times this standby/power light blinks at one time switch ON? Count it carefully. These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON; you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. This will make repair easy. NEED SKY CODE FOR AKURA APL3221W-HDID

Firstly you may need to identify which version of remote control you have, versions that are dated pre 2002 may not operate the more modern TV's and a new remote control will be needed see:New Remote Control Prices . To see which version you have, open the battery cover on the back of the Sky remote and look at the text on the sticker it will state 'Sky rev' (or Sky+ rev or Sky HD rev), followed by a number, such as 4, 6 or 8. This number indicates the version of your Remote Control.
Version 1: August 1998
Version 2: December 1999
Version 4: May 2001 (Sky+ introduced)
Version 6: March 2004
Version 8: January 2006 (includes all current Sky+HD remote controls)

Programming the remote control
To control your TV firstly switch on the TV set, point the Sky remote at the TV, press the "TV" button on the Sky remote, then press and hold the "Select" and "Red" buttons together until the red light at the top of the Sky remote control flashes twice. Enter the code for the TV listings below (Use the 4 digit codes from the left hand column), the red light will flash twice if a valid code has been entered. Press the standby button on the Sky remote control, this should switch the TV set off, if so then press the "Select" button to store the settings. You should now be able to switch the TV back on and use the volume control button from your Sky remote.
If the TV did not switch off then it may require a different code, you can either start again using one of the alternative Direct codes below or continue with this process by continuously pressing "TV" then "Standy" then "TV" then "Standby" etc until the TV set switches off. This will provide a manual scan for variations within that product code.

If you are still unable to control your TV from the remote control see: Programming The Sky Remote or go to Sky's official website where you can see if a particular remote control version number will operate your make of TV, this can be found at: Sky please remember to use your back button.

TV will not come on via the remote control and remains in standby

Try switching it off at the main switch on the TV. Then switch it back on from the same main switch on the TV. If the TV then comes on & works normally, then check the batteries in your remote control, they may need replacing.

SHARP 29" TV switching off to Standby

have you tried changing the batteries just to elimate this problem

change them

sometimes if the batteries are low in electronic devies, they send a wek signal to its receiver (your tv),

your tv gets confused and then switches itself to standby

if you have changed the batteries and this problem still persists

it can only then be th PSU or power supply unit, take it to your local tv repair shop of mastercare somewhere like that, its going to be cheaper to get it repaired than replacing the whole tv

PSU'S generally 20 to 50 pounds depending on model

don't deo it yourself though unless you've got a capacitor discharger (or a nice 25KV will be on its way to your body)

hop this helps mate, let me know how you get on
