Question about GE XL1800 1100 Watts Microwave Oven
I have an XL 1800 which recirculates. I am getting a reminder to replace the charcoal filter, but the instructions are not working. It says to remove the two screws on top of the vent to remove the vent, but there are no screws visible. There are only two screws behind the stainless steel vent door which flips down. I removed those screws but they don't appear to be holding the vent frame on. Please help?
I have the same model. There are 2 sscrews that hold the grill cover on. One problem might be that your cabinet are covering those screws. They are both located about 1" back from the front edge of the door. The left side is about 3.5" from the left edge & the right side is 8.25" from the right side of the unit. My cabinets are 12" deep & I am able to access the grill cover screws with no problems.
