Question about Mitsubishi TV Receivers & DVRs

Tv turns on briefly then goes out with red flashing status light

Tv is a 62 in dlp mitsubishi red status light comes on, light flashes three times quickly then a longer flash and then repeates. but no picture. I had this problem two weeks ago but I left the tv unplugged for two days and it worked for a week. no luck this time though. when it did work it still would not work in hi def just 480p. what could be wrong? thanks, chad

This is exactly intermitent problem, It needs to be trouble shoot at the repair shop if the problems occurs from power supply or high voltage.It needs a lot of test and equuipement to be accurate.And also the specific parts.

Model62825 the status lite keeps flashing and I can hear a cpu type fan running but nothing else can u suggest any trouble shooting I might try?


Ralph, I asked for clarification before, however if you are getting audio, the issue is most likely that your lamp needs to be replaced. This is easy to check. Refer to your manual still have it (Page 100), if not here's the link to it:

Pull the lamp and you'll be able to tell if it has failed because there will be a bunch of chunks of glass rattling around in it. If it has failed, put it back in the TV and get yourself a new lamp. The problem is that your lamp is rather expensive directly from Mitsubishi (Part# 915P020010) whereas the replacement lamps for the more contemporary models are only $99.00. Yours costs $229.00, but I do not recommend buying after-market no matter how appealing the low price seems. They are NEVER the quality of the OEM part and are often refurbished or generic, not designed for your TV.
This something you don't want to cheap out on because you'll regret it in the long run. Also, after-market lamps don't come with the cartridge normally (and when they do, they are almost as expensive as the OEM), meaning that you''ll have to purchase the cartridge separately and actually install the lamp into the cartridge and you don to want to be handling a DLP lamp. It could be disastrous to the lamp and its function.
If it's not the lamp, refer to page 101 of the manual to find out specifically what your particular flashing light indicates.

Top up tv+ digital tv stopped working.


i had same prob, tried unplugging three times
then unpluuged for 5mins
, plugged back in left it alone, ie didnt touch remote or front panel, until it settled down ~15mins, green light came on (doesn't normally)
and everthing seems ok now

just found this solution and it worked for me ............. though it wiped the hard drive ............ basically restores to factory settings
turn all power off and back on again press stand by button repeatedly until flashing amber light is n constant them quickly press up down left right in that order as quick as you can .............

Toshiba tv will not turn on


I have a toshiba tv and it will not turn on. There is a flashing green light that comes on, but there is no picture or sound.

How do i program my remote


1. TV on.
2. On your Dish Network remote PRESS AND HOLD the small clear tv button until all buttons across the top of the remote light up and release.The only button lit should be the clear tv button that will be flashing.
3. Press the small red tv button next to the power button and release it. This should leave the clear tv button that was flashing lit solid.
4. Now slowly depress the channel up key until the tv turns off.Each time the up channel button is depressed the clear tv button will cease being lit and once it is released the clear tv button should remain solid. If the clear tv button flashes multiple times it usually means there is no known code for your tv, there may be another code that will work so continue on.
5. Once you are successful in getting the TV turned off press the channel down button once and then the channel up button. This should turn the TV back on.
6.Press the # key button on the remote. The clear tv button should flash three times then press the record button and try the volume up/down and the small red tv button. You should be able to turn volume up and down and turn tv on /off. If only one of these function it means that you have only found a half code and need to try the process again. Not all TV's have full codes or any codes at all especially combo units.

It sounds like your approaching the end of your lamp's life. Most projection televisions have internal lamp timers. These lamp timers usually give you time to buy a new bulb before it needs to be replaced.

The reciever box light flashes red


Same issue here in NZ with a set.  Fixed (twice) before.  Same problem for the thirs time in 4 years. Solution  - get a Sony.

I have this TV and the same thing happens to me as well. Only a month after I purchased it, it started it. Once it turns off with the red status light blinking, press and hold the two buttons for about 10 seconds. You'll then see the green light start flashing. It will flash two sequences. Mine always gives me a code 37.

One weekend, I couldn't get it to turn on for two days, and I was so upset since I couldn't get any service people on the phone. When I finally found a service company that would return my call, the 5th company I called from Mitsubishi's authorized service techs in the area, they scheduled a guy to come out. Eventually, before he came out, I got it to come on and stay on after countless resets. And of course, once he came out to the house we could not replicate the problem.

Since then, (about 4 months ago) it's worked perfectly until just last week it did it again. This time, I only had to reset it about a dozen times before it worked and has worked consistently since then.

It's really frustrating that the problem is inconsistent, and for some reason Mitsubishi claims to never have experienced it before. I do have the extended warranty, and at this rate, I'm assuming they eventually do a full replacement after the 3 service call "lemon" clause.
