Question about Goodmans 217NS TV
Hi i have a goodmans 28" tv model: w282ns-t, approx 5yr old. you can turn the tv on and after about 10mins the screen goes blank but the sound remains, you turn the telly off for 10 mins & the picture comes back & then repeats the above problem, i noticed the tube is manufactured by thompson. Is the telly economically repairable or is a new telly on the cards? Any information would be greatly appreciated> Thanks Martin
This sympton is cause by a breakdown in the video amplifier, ABL (automatic brightness limiting) circuit, crt circuit or in the horizontal circuit and high voltage circuits. according to your experience, it seems that a certain component is already deteriorating, when it becomes hot it looses its function. probably ic, transistor, resistor or capacitor in the above circuits. but im sure its not the tube which is the most expensive of all the parts.
