dvd won't read and makes a clicking noise when i push play
the problem started with dvd skipping a lot-
now it won't play at all- thank you for any suggestions

Thank you for your response-
Can i access the lens and lens assembly without taking anything apart?
do you recommend a certain type/brand of dvd lens cleaner?
do i blast some pressurized air duster in there?
thanks- i've never fixed any electronic in my life

i have the same problem as thnkfl9, it wpuld not read the dvd"s and the clicking sound Also when i try one of those dvd cleaning disk the tv would try to read that disk and would say this type of disk cannot be played. help me please i have had this tv for about two years.

clean the lens with a clean, dry and soft cotton swab. use also microduster to remove accumulated dust inside the lens assembly.

yes you can access it without taking any part, just the cover of the vcr/dvd unit. i've never use any type or brand of dvd lens cleaner, just clean, dry and soft cotton swab and aircompress duster usually use for computers. yes u can blast some pressurized air duster in there. if the problem is still the same after these precedures, maybe its about time to send it to a shop for further analysis. maybe the optical lens assembly needs to be replaced. good luck!
