Question about HP PhotoSmart 145 InkJet Printer
Apparently the computer in the printer is not functioning. When i turn on the printer i can not get any readout from the printer. example, it will not ask me if i want to print a index card, or will it allow me to select specific pictures to print. The printer will still print directly from the camera dock by my selecting specific photos, but this is time consuming. Is there a way to reboot the LCD in the printer? Or what suggestions do you have

try installing a different driver make sure you dont install the same driver over again. just go onto hp support download drivers

Thanks for trying to help. Meanwhile I went to HP tech chat and went also back and forth on possible setting solutions for the HP c6180 all-in-one printer I was inquiring about. The real problem turned out to be in the Microsoft Word document settings. When I started from scratch with new document setup and selected the correct format for 4x6 index cards, the printer settings with just a couple of resettings worked fine. I was trying to control all the settings from the HP solution center and my printer settings when the real issue was to be sure to set the Word document settings correctly in the first place. thanks again. Does the c7280 use seperate Magenta and PhotoMagenta cartridges? If so make certain the right cartridge is in the correct slot.

Populate the destination list
You must populate the destination list in HP Solution Center for the
function to work. Follow these steps to populate the destination list.
NOTE: HP Solution Center is the software that came with the product. You must make sure the software is installed on the computer for all the product functions to work correctly. The software is also necessary for completing this procedure. Install HP Solution Center if it is not already installed.
NOTE: It might take several minutes for the list to populate. If the appropriate programs are already listed as scan destinations, discontinue this procedure. You must reinstall the software.

If it's a B&W or sepia photo, and you wanted to print B&W or grayscale anyway, pull the color cartridge (assuming a 2 cartridge system). I did that with my HP DJ 5440 and it works perfectly.
