The orifice is not adjustable but there is a small air sheild around it that is held in place with 1 screw and needs only to be adjusted if the flame is not of a blue color (starting to get a yellow or orange color in it).

Bought a four basket fryer on an auction. It is a Model bb14, serial m25860 not sure if it is now Lp or NG. Pilot lights for both sides but does not light burners. Can hear the click on the thermostat....

Natural gas and LP gas run on different pressures. If it has been set up to run on LP and you hook it up to natural the burners will be very small and may not light due to LP works on a higher pressure than natural. If it is set up for natural and you use propane the flames could be way overgassed. One thing to check is what the appliance regulator spring is set for. There will be a cap on the regulator and when you remove the cap there is usually a small metal ring inside that sets the spring tension by flipping it's position. On top of the ring it will say NAT or LP. Now if you find this ring set on NAT then the appliance was probably running on Natural Gas and vice versa. If it is set up for LP and you go to Natural than the orfices can be drilled out and the appliance regulator tension cap flipped. If it is set up for Natural and you go to LP than it is best to replace the orfices with LP ones.

I have two dean sr142gps fryers and am looking for an owners manual. I want to know how to adjust the flame onthe burners.

The only way to adjust the flame is by changing the orfices on the burner tube manifold. Dean is owned by Frymaster & you can contact their technical Dept @800-551-8633

Change from natural gas to propane

1.You will need to change the pilot orifice and the burner orifices
2. You may need to change the gas control valve. Some gas control valves are made for natural gas and some are made for LP. They have regulators built-in, that deliver the correct pressure respectively. Natural gas is 3.5 inches of water column, LP is 10 inches of water column.
Some manufacturers sell kits to change the spring in the regulator from Nat to LP
You would need a parts breakdown on the specific model number of your fryer to find the parts you need. Hope this helps.
