Samsung plasma screen

H my firend is selling her 40inch plasma its a samsung but when u turn it on red lines go throu the bottom of the screen she only wants £20 for it but i wanted to no if it can be repaired or is it not woth buying what do u think

    less than 2 years old and I spent $250 to have the repair person tell me exactly what eagle338 said. Too expensive to replace the screen $1200.

    I now own a $1700 (2 years ago that is what I paid) paperweight.

Hmmm... Looks like a bad screen to me which is too expensive to replace. It is definitely not worth a cent unless you are looking for an oversized paper weight :)

My Samsung Plasma TV has a verical line from top to bottom near the left side of the screen. Shortly after this line appeared, the tv started turning off on it's own. Now it won't turn on at all.

Red Line on the left side of the screen


This is a serious problem, you have to call SS right away since it is in warrantee. They need to check whether the panel is defective.

Red Dots


You can get rid of the red dots by adjusting the V-scan voltage down, it's on the panel sticker inside the unit, you can find the test point on the DC to DC pcb, and the adjustment pot is on the same board, lower it as you watch the screen and only lower it enough to rid the screen of the dots
