Is it a pci or isa card? Does you computer have any pci slots? ISA are long black slots and pci are white and short. Let me know it will make a big difference.

Easynote e4700 rj45 port is dead

  1. Did you ping 127.0.0.1 to test the computers own basic network setup?
  2. Did you do a yum update and the network driver was updated?
  3. Did you check service network status?
  4. You could also update to at least 5.7 for better network support.
  5. It seldom happens, but network cards do die. This usually happens out of the blue with no forewarning. The only way to tell is to put the card into another computer and/or to replace the existing card. Good thing is, they are really not expensive.
Hope this helps, otherwise let me know.

I have a internet access coming into my house but the desktop pc is not recieving any internet signal but the other pcs on the network are. i have a message saying the lan card is not recieving any...

Yes, it could be or it needs to be removed and then re installed.
You can go into tcp/ip properties and see if you can uninstall the network card.
I am not sure be here remotely that the physical network card works or not.
If there isn't green light showing on the network card ( this will be on the back of the desktop) then it may be that you will need a new one but uninstalling it and physically removing it from the desktio and then reinserting it ( with the power off of course) and with the desktop shut down without the network card in the desktop 1st. Then re inserting the network card in the PCI slot and powering up the PC maybe all that it needs to reinstall it ( plug and play) that is.
