Question about Pioneer CDJ-800MK2 Turntable

Broken sound from cdj800 mk2

When playing a quiet break with no beats i notice the sound that should be constant like a synth string sound or long vocal is very slightly broken like a "gate" effect. it does it on just burnt cd and older ones. i use gold cdr so not cheap ones. have not checked with shop bought cd s as download all music at 320kbs and burn to wav. ideas appretiated and rough cost if you can please. thanks. kev.

This probably has nothing to do with the CDJ unit, and more to do with your recording speed and quality. Record at either 2x or 4x - yes, I know it's slow, but you'll get a better quality recording out of it.

Check the neck to body attachment. There may be a problem there, especially if it has been strained in the past. The fact that the strings were so high when you got this would indicate there MAY be a problem with the neck attachment or the body where it attaches. Word of caution: Investigate how repairs are done on the instrument before attempting a fix. Using wrong materials can permanently disable an instrument. Banjos DO go out of tune easily, depending on how they are played. Another thing to remember is that strings are within about 10% of breaking when in tune on stringed instruments.

CDJ800MK2 problems


Code E-8380 is a read error. Either the CD tray itself is stucked/jammed, or the Play switch is not sending the correct signal to the CD amp.

In either case, professional assistance is required.
