Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7815 re-soldered cmos battery onto mother board and re-set the bios, now I have the f2 and f12 option available, tried to boot cd/dvd drive with windows 8 disk and it will not

Go into the BIOS setting abd check it the BIOS detects the hard disk and CD/DVD drive.
If it detects these drives then go to the boot device order and select the CD as the first boot device then the hard disk as the 2nd boot device.

Bios does not detect cd rom drives, the cd rom drives has power but it does not work cause bios its not detecting it and it a new drive, my toshiba satellite is a85-s107 let me know if u can fix it.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L355D that would not detect the CD Rom in the BIOS although the Rom appeared to powered up and running. I traced the problem to a ribbon cable connector that was between the jack the CD Rom plugged into and the jack on the mother board. The ribbon cable plug at the MB had backed out and was only making the power connections to the Rom making the Rom appear to be operating.

My dvdrw is not recognised by BIOS, therefore, not able to boot from CD. Bios version 1.3.

if the drive is not recognized in the BIOS, either the issue is with the drive or your system board. try to remove and reconnect the drive from the notebook. if this does not work, you can also try a BIOS update, or test if your drive will be detected on another notebook. if the drive works fine on another system and another drive also fails on your system, it would be an issue on the system board. If the drive, however, fails on another system, you'll need to get a drive replacement.

Where can I find a driver for my hitachi travelstar IC25N080ATMR04-0

1. You shouldn't need a driver for the hard drive
the Bios ( Basic Input/output system ).
2. You mother board should detect the driver
3. You will have to go into the BIOS setup to see of your hard drive is detect then set the BIOS to boot from the hard drive
4. If your pc takes SATA ( Serial advance technology attachment) then a IDE ( Intelligent drive electronics) will not work with the system without an adapter.
5. Your PC mother board instruction manual will have instruction on hard to access your BIOS settings
Caution: Any changes in the BIOS will not allow some devices attached to your PC to work properly is not properly addressed in the BIOS setup.

No matter what i do cd rom not detecting

check whether the powe plug has been inserted properly and the power plug is working fine. Even though if the power plug inserted is working fine and CD ROM not detecting means CD ROM was damaged.
