Question about Ricoh Aficio 1085 Laser Printer

Aficio 1085 toner pread in drum area

I have a problem regarding toner spread in drum area. Developer is about 80k, toner good, new corona and grid corona ...I have clened the area...but still after some 100 copies there is too much toner in frum area....cleaning brush is ok and drum blade is new...Please advise ...Txs

You may have an over toner because of deffect in soft ware you may reduce toner supply amount by program 2-209

The blade is not sitting correctly either you have used a bad one or the mechanism is not adhereing closely to the drum, removed the uit and rotate towards you sprinkle a few toner if you can still see a remainder toner that was not yet scraped then the prob is really in the cleaning unit, either the blade or the plate,
to ensure have you consider changing your drum? it could be exhausted already...

no other way around it

Model 600. Why is it dropping toner near transfer corona unit?


When is the last time the developer and drum where replaced? When the last time was a PM done? Very 250,000 copies a PM must be done? Which replaces the Corona Wires, Developer, Drum, Corona Grid, Web roller for fuser (Hot Part). Also during the PM the Tech should clean the toner out of the Waste Toner collection unit on the image unit. also clean the area around the drum and developer roller.

Yes every 250,000 prints the following is replaced

Developer, Ensure counter is cleared and Developer Charge is run
Drum
*Corona Wires and Corona Grid
*Transfer / separation wires
*Cleaning systems for above wires (Unless Cleaning system motors are shut down
*Fuser Web roller
also all of the above counters are cleared as the machine use the counters to determine what is new and what is old. And determine what voltages to assign to certain assy. if you lie to it and clear the counter and not replace codes will show up and image issues can happen.

* KIT PARTS
Developer and Drum separate

Should also check the upper and lower fuser roller located I the hot section and the fingers that protect those large rollers from allowing paper the to wrap around them.

Again clear counters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and run require developer and drum procedures. Try this as start

I have a Kyocera KM-5530. It prints light in some areas. There is good transfer to the drum, but just not to the paper. New corona wires, new main high voltage board, new developer, and toner. Anyone know...


This would indicate that you are having a transfer problem or the Paper is very damp. Have you changed the transfer corona wire?
Also check the drop down mechanism that holds the transfer unis. Mechanichaly if it is not in the correct position when in the locked position this can cause the problem that you are experiencing.

What is the difference between the toner and developer on this printer? The manuals we have don't give any info on installing developer, but you can purchase both toner and developer for this...


Toner provides the color, Developer consists of magnetic particles that carry the color on the outside of the developer drum, which is magnetic. Some developer is lost on each copy, although most stays in the developer unit. When you run low on developer, your image gets lighter and lighter, until the machine reports an error because it can no longer self calibrate. One change of developer suffices for many changes of toner. There is a procedure involving various actions and codes to flush the developer material out and load new developer in. This is not difficult, but there are a couple of reasons you might not want to do it if you are unsure why or if you should. First, developer for these estudio copiers, is very expensive. Second, unless you know how many copies have been made on the existing developer, you might change the developer, and fail to correct the problem. There are related service items, involving the cleaning blades, and seals, servicing charging grids, corona wire, and general cleaning of the 4 developer units and opc drums. Including dusting with zinc sterate, etc., etc. Its hard to know where to begin or where to stop. If you really want to know all about it, order a manual from any of a variety of on-line sources. My ricoh aficio mp3010 suddenly only gives my blanc copy's.( I allready changed the toner, but stil no succes. could someone please advise. thanks.


Your problems into the high voltage unit.Please check the carge corona (wire & holders&grid),inspect transfer bellt (under belt HV board,inspect and vacuum cleaning the toner and dust).Pull out the image unit ,rotary manual magnetic rolls to see a developer status,and reinstal the unit.

To take the block of the drum out of copier it is necessary,disconnect feeding,open shift to the right lid,on she is found corona carrying,open the front lid,take out the toner-cartrige,take out the block with developer and finally take out block itself with drum.

The Bonanza block before itself.With pliers we roll the dowel,which keeps the drum and take out him(it).

We Remove drum.

The Vacuum cleaner net corona and removable unit containing .

We Put new фотобарабан,insert and twist the dowel.

We Insert the block of the drum on place,then block with developer and toner-cartrige.We Close shift to the right door,include the device.

Corona wire


I was getting the clean the corona wire problem message even after repeated cleanings.  Before this problem occured the toner light was flashing warning of low toner. When I got the clean the wire pop up the toner light was on all the time indicating the toner was depleated.  So, I thought I would try replacing the toner cartridge and see what happened. I opened the new toner box and noticed on the foil packege specific instructions to clean the corona wire when installing the new toner.  I installed the new toner and cleaned the wire one more time. I then reinstalled the drum and toner assembly into the printer and the clean the corona wire message did not come up again.  The printer now works fine.

Hi,i will do this: Remove toner,then remove developer unit.Try to clean magnet roller on developer unit with dry cloth, if see lines on roller.Pull out paper transport unit(green handle ) and clean transfer roler and vacuum it.Then ,when is paper transport and developer unit out, remove drum unit(open door on the left side on the printer and pull out drum). Remove Corona from drum unit.Remove and clean grid,corona inside and corona vire.
Check fuser and drum for scratches.
