Hi, Have a Thorens TD147 turntable, have lost the detachable power cord. It is a special cord, possibly used just in that model. Any suggestions

The TD-147 is the semi auto version of the amazing manual TD-160. There is nothing garden variety about these delicate and precise machines. If you really want the correct information or parts for any vintage Thorens turntable, contact STS Turntables at Their tech is mentored and Swiss trained by original Swiss engineers. I trust no one else with my TD-124.

Bought a TD 150 MkII that runs 100 ~ 240 volts 50 Hz. In my country we have 60 Hz. How to correct ?

It's simply a matter of if the transformer can take the 60 Hz. After that the supply passes via a large electrolytic capacitor which is there to take out the 50 Hz. Otherwise you get a hum, which is what happens when the large capacitor fails.
Though I can not be certain! It might just work with the 60 Hz without doing nothing. Though if you get a hum you might need to replace the big capacitor with one with a greater value than the one in. Say the one you have in is 2200uf at 50v, you would need to replace it with 4700uf or higher at the same voltage or higher. Of course the other problem might be getting a bigger capacitor in!

I have a Thorens TD115. The left channel doesn't

I am basing my findings on my THORENS TD166 MK2.
First thing you have to do here is check the wiring from the headshell to the RCA phono leads - for this you need a multi-meter set on continuity.
Disconnect the cartridge and put one meter probe on one of the headshell wires and the other to the centre pins and outer rim of the RCA plugs. One headshell wire should read fine on one part of the plug as it will correspond with ONE part only of the RCA plug. When you have checked all wiring and you get a continuity check (OK) then you must look to the cartridge.
However, if you get a reading of ONE headshell wire reading more than one part of an RCA plug then you may have an internal wiring problem in the deck.
Here is something that might help:
RED - to centre pin of right output plug GREEN - to outer metal rim of right output plug WHITE - to centre pin of left output plug BLUE - to outer metal rim of left output plug In some cases this wire may be black
Just to recap, if these readings are OK - the cartridge may be at fault.
I wish you well with it!!! (:-)

Need new lid for Thorens TD 160 turntable. Any ideas where I can get one from

I can't guarantee anything, but look up and call Stereo Component Systems in Boston Ma. When I was there, they still had quite a bit of Thorens parts available.
