Question about Lexmark Office Equipment & Supplies

My 6170 keeps telling me that I am missing a print cartridge when I have installed a brand new one..I have tried to cleann the heads but still the same results. I cannot find the disc to reload the software, although this is a printerproblem not a computer problem.

Did you remove the plastic protective film from the cartridge ? If you did, remove both cartridges , disconnect the printer from both the computer and the wall socket . Let it sit for about a minute. Then connect the printer back and reinstall the cartridges.see if it makes a difference. I hope this helps!

hi, first turn the printer off and unplug it and let set for 30 mins. Ig that doesn't work try taking the cartridge out and reaching inside where you put the cartridges go and clean the print head with alcohol with a q-tip.

bad cartridges or you set it not to remind you of ink running low
If so maybe try to remove the head and let it cap.
Unplug it for 30 minutes and re-install head etc.

I get a cartridge missing message in a Dell 810 printer


I am having the exact same problem. Just got my cartridge refilled, and whenever I hit the print command, I keep getting the message "printer cartridge missing." It's obviously there! gaahhh, so annoying! I hate dell.

Followed instructions for i860 error5200 and now get a new issue


You will need a new printhead, you only remove to see if that's the problem, wrong or missing cartridge error means the printhead has gone bad.

Cant scan to computer


Unfortunately many of the All-In-One devices are like this. If the Cartridges are installed but empty the system is reading that fault code as the Cartridges not being installed. Even though you are not using the ink the printer is most likely doing a light head cleaning when it cycles. Replace teh cartridges and it should clear up.
