The keyboard has to be detected by the o/s [operating system]??_Which one!!?? Windows_xp:: goto START>CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM>HARDWARE>DEVICE MANAGER>LOOK UP KEYBOARD and see if 1) there are more then one listed (delete or uninstall one OR both of them)
On top of menu you'll see a picture[icon] of a monitor-keyboard-mouse (system) :""Scan for system changes"" _ press, then REBOOT.......... the system MUST look for and install the drivers for the new keyboard. If no drivers.... no keyboard..
