still can not find a video to locate the DM board.I thought it would be easy to fix because I fix everything and the amount of circut boards is crazy..And even if I find it there is a tray of electronics that slides out and will have to unplud a **** load of wires and still have to take out the circut board. This job is meant for a TV repair guy for sure.

If the set constantly blinks (attempts to boot DM up) try something else first---pull front speaker grill off and remove inspection plate behind it--note the bundle of wires coming down from front controls--follow to right and down---unplug the two inline plugs and see if set turns on--remote will still function with plugs undone.

If set works DM is ok and you have a problem on the keyboard--bad reset microswitch.

The DM as seen from the rear is the LARGE metal box on the far left side of the chassis.

It has several numbered plugs and plugs into the board beneath it.

How to replace the dm in wd-52525

The DM is the second board inside the Chassis block directly underneath the FMT board. But replacement DM boards if still good are very expensive your better off replacing the 4 capacitors that fail on the DM.

Mitsubishi ws48515 when plugged in hear a click and the green light starts blinking and set does nothing

This is a common problem with this unit.
1. Un plug the unit.
2. Take the back off of the unit
3. On the far left side you will see metal box standing up. Inside the box is your DM board. Remove the box from the unit.
4. Remove the DM board from the box.
5. Inspect these Capacitors to see if they are bulging or defective.

C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4. The Value of these capacitors are 1000MF/16V

6. If any of these capacitors are defective, replace them all with capacitors at this rating. 680MF/16V
7. Make sure that when you replace the capacitors that you have the correct polarity. The - side of the capacitor goes toward the markings on the board.
8. Reinstall all parts of unit.
9. Plug in unit
10. Wait the 90 seconds or so that it takes for the DM to boot up ( Green Flashing Light )
11. Once Unit stops flashing you should be able to turn it on and enjoy.

Good luck to you.

hi,
Your tv have problem with Digital module DM board. there seven filter capacitors (1000uf 16V ) in the DM board. if any one of it is faulty the this problem can occur. its a regular complaint for this model. just replace the capacitor. i have added the picture of the DM board you have to replace the marked capacitors . Also check the two fuses in the same board 4Amps fuse and 2Amps fuse.

Blinking light with no picture or sound

If you have a green blinking light,
Most likely issue is with bad capacitors on the DM an FMT boards.

1) Look for bad 1000uf 16v caps on the dm board and the fmt board.

2) checked surface mount fuses (small white boxes) on DM and FMT board

Look carefully for other bad capacitors in the general area.

Start here and let me know the results.

Note, there is a lot of disassembly to get to these boards. Not a fun project.

Want to replace caps which board is the DM board?

Once you take the shield assembly off, you will see a board, I believe it is the DM Board board. There are four Capacitors grouped together probably rated at 35v 1000 mfd, 105 degree. They should be replaced with 35v 680mfd,105 degree Capacitors. Now once that is done, there is another board under that one. This is the Format Board. It also has 4 Capacitors that should also be replaced. They are the same value as the first Board and should be replaced with the same 35v 680mfd, 105 degree Capacitors.
Please note the Flex connectors at the bottom of the DM and Format Boards. They may not be available from Mitsubishi any more so be gentle with them and make sure the are installed properly when reinstalling the Boards back into the chassis. There is one other Board you should look at. The Power Supply Board is the board on the back of the chassis and also has a number of Capacitors that fail. Most all of the Capacitors that fail through out this chassis will have bulging tops. So any you see bulging, you should replace whether they are on the DM, Format , or Power Supply.
I hope this helps,

I turned on the TV but just got a black screen but could hear audio just fine. Turned the set off and unplugged it. When I plugged it back in the green timer light started flashing and would not stop...

Nonstop blinking is likely a DM or format board - format board most likely. I have rebuilt several of these by simply replacing all the caps, about 70 of them, and takes about two hours start to finish... But this set does need to boot. It takes about 70 seconds of flashing green light before you're able to press the power button - even when everthing is working as it should..
Hope this helps!

I have a 37inch insignia

Some people I contacted said it has faulty capacitors that need to be relaced. Available at radio shack.
Most likely causes in order:
  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.

To replace capacitors:
  1. Keep yourself "grounded" when working with the circuit board. Static electricity will destroy electronic components.

  2. When replacing the Capacitors, press them "down" onto the circuit board as far as they will go, hold them down, solder into place and clip the excess terminal lengths flush with solder. Only by doing this will the metal shield (little silver box) slide down and over the circuit board during re-assembly. There is not a lot of clearance when doing this, as the 105C Capacitors are slightly longer that the originals. With minimal effort everything does fit back together.

  3. Use ONLY 105º C capacitors with a voltage rating of 35 V.

  4. Re-insert the DM circuit board into the Mother board; press virmly and ensure a proper seat of the DM board. Next, slide the metal case down and over the DM circuit board.

It sounds like the capacitors inside the DM board is going bad or there is a problem with the FMT or formatter board. The DM repair will require replacement of four capacitors and if not done right away, the problem will get worse and burn out the IC's inside the DM and the DM will cost about 1000 bucks to replace! Good luck
