Question about Fuji FinePix E550 Digital Camera

Adapter ring cover problem

Removed the adapter ring cover in order to mount an adapter tube and wide-angle lens. I'm finished with the wide-angle so I removed the adapter tube and attempted to re-install the adapter ring cover. It will not lock into place despite anything I try. Has anyone out there got a solution to this problem other than taking it to a repair shop? Thanks.

Re: Adapter ring cover problem

Maybe the adapter ring release button is stuck after you pushed it in to release the cover. Try giving it a good flicking until you are sure it has popped out.

Vivitar screw mount lens, Nikon D-80 camera. Is there an adapter for this?

The M42 mount was used by several camera manufacturers, most notably Pentax. Nikon is not one of them.
Vivitar made many lenses with a T-mount. This consists of a screw mount on the lens and a suitable adapter, depending on the camera body. This allows a lens to be used with different cameras simply by changing the adapter.
If your lenses are T-mount, then yes, there are adapters available. One source is here.
Be aware that you'll probably lose any metering capability when using any lens with this adapter. You'll have to use a separate light meter or else view the resulting picture on the display and adjust the exposure appropriately.

What size uv filter do i need for an olympus sp-570uz camera ?

The SP-570UZ does not have a filter thread; therefore, lens filters cannot be attached directly to the camera.

Filters with 55mm diameter can be attached to the SP-570UZ via the CLA-10 Lens Tube Adapter, sold separately. However, it is not recommended because vignetting may occur in the corners of the image when the camera is set to wide angle positions.

The CLA-10 Lens Tube Adapter (Item #202104) is available from authorized Olympus dealers and also online from The Olympus Store:

I want to add lens to my fujifilm s5600 to take better pics

There are lenses available to add with an adapter ring. I have the wide angle lens (which I LOVE) and a 2x telephoto lens. The wide angle lens allows me to macro from several feet away. It is an amazing lens. The telephoto lens is something you really need to use with a tripod. But yes, there are lenses you can add to your camera.

Conversion lenses & filters

These screw on the front of the plastic lens adapter and adjust the focal length. On the side of the adapter lenses it will quote the ratio. My wide angle says 0.66x so just multiply the range of focal lengths by this figure and you will see that it adjusts the camera zoom accordingly - making the image wider and probably also increasing the depth of field (what is in focus). Similarly a 1.5 tele will inrease the range of focal lengths to make the lens "longer" eg higher magnification , useful for astro photography - shots of the moon and terrestrial long distance work but detracting from the depth of field, eg the range of distance over which objects are in focus will be reduced.

The wide angle will allow you to come in close and get WIDE objects fully in-frame- hence "wide angle", while the telephoto will give you better overall maginification of the image but will probably increase the MINIMUM focal length - eg you may not be able to focus on objects closer than >2m (instead of ~1).

The screw-on adapter lenses I found were cheap in a Jessops sale use a 52mm thread, while the S5500 provides a 55mm internal thread. I use an appropriate 55mm to 52mm step down ring adapter. There is slight vignetting (shading around the edge of an image) at certain combinations of zoom, but generally these are very useful accessories.

As these are adapter lenses on the front of an already powerful 10x zoom that must be optically compromised at the price of this camera, there maybe some colour fringeing around bright images. If you want a better solution you really need to get a DSLR. Overall a good solution for the price.

How to fis additional lens for canon power shot S1 IS

On the lower right side of the lens (as viewed from the rear) is a small button that releases the ring around the lens barrel. Removing the ring reveals a bayonet-style mounting flash that allows you to attach a lens adapter for extended telephoto, wide angle, or macro capabilities. Image reduced by dark edges

An adapter tube has to flare out at the end or it will cut the corners off at the wide angle setting. Telephoto should be ok though.

62 size

If you want to add other lenses, either macro, wide angle, telephoto or just filters, they go directly on the adapter. That's why the thread size (62mm) is important because that's the best fit for that adapter. If you get other sizes you can still use them with step rings but that adds to the expense and stepping down can cause vignetting. Wide angle adapter

I wouldn't worry about the adapter. I'm going to try ordering a telephoto converter this weekend.

C-770 lens

If you are talking about converter lenses (telephoto and wide angle), there are a few that will fit the Olympus C-770. You will have to use the Raynox adapter tube instead of the Olympus CLA-4 tube. There are probable others, but I could not find them. Interestingly, the Olympus TCON-17 and WCON-07 lenses are very popular and adapted to other brand of cameras.
