Question about Panasonic AG-DVC30 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

2 Answers

Panasonic ag-dvc30p I bought the Panasonic ag-dvc30p camera. The sound on playback is almost inaudable. I took some video with my panasonic pv-gs31 and put that tape into my ag-dvc30p and the sound came back loud in clear. Used the same tape to make sure the tape wasn't bad, videod using the ag-dvc30p, but again playing back the sound on high could barely be heard. We just got a second one shipped to us and the same thing is happening again. We were told how to turn the volume up, which we had already done prior to our first recording, and when I told the tech person it was up, that is when he said he'd send out a replacement. I make videos and when I put this on my computer, I could hear sound but the sound waves, in comparison to my pv-gs31 were little and flat, the pv-gs31 were much higher and the sound much louder. I do not have the big microphone that you can buy, I'm only using what the camera came with. I told the man that I bought it from what I was using it for and he said it'd be fine. Thank you.

I own a Panasonic PV-GS31 Mini DV Digital Camcorder, I am a Private Investigator and while recording the sound needs to be muted, how can I accomplish this?

Hi There, There is no external mic input on that model camera. The only way to do it is you will have to take the front panel off the unit and disconnect the flat mic/audio cable from the front panel. If you do this, tape up the connector so it won't short out the unit. If you had external mic in, you could put a dummy plug in and that would cut the sound from the internal microphone.
Thanks, me cicmo
