Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I have a multi-region DVD player. It plays region 1 without a problem. It also plays region 2 except I can hear it only. I can't see the video for region 2. I am using an Insignia plasma tv. Any suggestions? I know it's worked in the past so I must have changed a setting by accident somehow. Thanks

These are the remote codes for an LG RH397D, maybe it will be the same for your 398H.

1. press home on remote
2. scroll to setup options
3. scroll to lock (DO NOT SCROLL SIDEWAYS)
4. press zero seven times (message appears)
5. press enter

I hope that helps.

DVD player Samsung BD-P4600 how to make it multi-code

Hi.

Try the following region hack procedures.
1. Turn on the player with no disk inside.
2. Wait for the no disc message.
3. Press REPEAT 57538.
4. The number 2 will display in the top left corner
5. Press 9 to select multiregion.
6. The Samsung BD-P4600 is now region free.

It works on most Samsung BD-P4600 .

When turn on, the red light is on (stop blink), but after some seconds the red light is blinking again and the tv remain off

Im not Guarantee This will Work but give it a go

Multi-Region:
  • Turn On the unit with the remote controller
  • Wait until "no disc" appears in the unit's display
  • Press Pause, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9
  • The word "CODE" should appear in the display
  • Within five seconds, press the key that corresponds to the zone you want i.e. 0 for region free, 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2 and so on
  • Again, within 5 seconds, press Pause and Power
If the above fails to work then you may wish to try the following:
  • Put the player into Standby mode
  • Press 1 and Return on remote for region 1, 2 and Return for region 2, and so on. Use 0 and Return to return player to default region settings
  • Press P-Mode and Return to play DVD's with the selected region, auto-switching is Off
  • Press Audio and Return for auto-switching On
  • Press Angle and Return for MacroVision On
  • Press Subtitle and Return for MacroVision Off
hope this helps you out

cheers Little Dish Fitter.

We have a Samsung Digital Home Cinema System that will only play DVDsfrom Zone 4 and we have several DVDs from Zone 2. Can you help? MJ

Most DVD played do NOT allow you to change the region, but look up the model number and "change region" and if it can be done it will come up, But frankly I don't think it will, to play muli region discs you have to get a multi region player.

I am in Australia and have just bought a DMR BW500. I have a dvd from Japan which won't work on it and I have been told that if I unlock the region code, then it will work. So how do I unlock the region...

The following works on a region 4 player. With no disc in the player and the drawer closed, press stop, stop, setup, then 3,8,8,8,3 and the desired region code, (0 for multiregion). Nothing will appear on screen. Then switch the player off and back on. It should now play discs for any region

I am French and live in US I bought here a TV SAMSUNG Series 6 - 650- I also bought a DVD player able to read any DVD but for DVD zone 2, it's in black and white What may I have to do on TV to read DVD...

Hi,

Offhand in all probability and since the Samsung was bought in the US, it uses the NTSC color system. Even if the player is capable of multi regions including PAL/SECAM (Europe/region 2), the TV is not capable of displaying the other color system. Sorry, a multi system TV is also required.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

The tv works fine, can hear all channels except the video channel on the tv - no sound at all - the video when playing a tape no sound either - please help - thanks

Since the sound works on all other channels, there are 2 possibilities:
1) The audio switching chip has failed.
2) The source is not sending the audio to the set.

The higher probability is option 2. Can you please post the make and model of hte set as well as that of the tape player? That info will help to give you more details.
Thanks,
Dan
