You might need a new igniter. First, if you know what and where it is, try cleaning it because it might have something spilled on it that causes it not to light and spark the gas. If cleaning it does not do it, then you might have to get a new igniter which should be cheap.

It is gas pressure problem have a check to see if there is a gas regulator in line with the gas pipe to the fryer if so adjust regulator.

The safety valve is controlled by a thermocouple, test and eventually replace the thermocouple.

There is a thermocouple that will close the valve in the eventuality that there is not enough heat. This is a safety device to turn off the gas if flame goes off.

    Find and test the thermocouple.

Let me know your model number if you want to try finding schematics , I will go offline in few minutes, and answer in the next 24.

I light the pilot everything is fine then when i go to turn thermostat on pilot light goes small and burners dont light and when i turn back to pilot the gas ignites and goes out

Sometimes certain models turn off if you touch the thermostat before it lites...
We've seen this happen many times, so you would need to light the fryer first, wait until it's stable before turning your thermostat to desired temperature.

Pitco Fryer will not light up

Check the thermopile, it must be free of dirt or soot so that it can absorb enough heat from pilot flame and in turn can generate the right amount of voltage to energize pilot and burner coils.
Check also the gas pressure, it should be of standard as required on the unit's nameplate.

Hello I have a Pitco Frialator 35CD Deep Fryer and as of one day ago, when I turn the wheel to turn the fire on (the wheel with the various temperatures) nothing happens? How do I fix it?

Assuming that the pilot is lit, when you turn the thermostat from off to the operating temperature, you should hear a click at some point. If you do not, the thermostat is defective. You can also double check this by detaching one of the two wires going to the thermostat and measuring for continuity between the two terminals. At off it should show no continuity. At 200F or above it should show continuity. This is the most common problem.

If the pilot will not stay lit or if it goes out when you increase the thermostat setting, it is usually a defective or weak thermopile (or thermocouple), or a defective gas valve. If replacing the gas valve, I recommend replacing the thermocouple or thermopile at the same time.

Restate your problem if the pilot won't stay lit or if it goes out when you turn the thermostat up.

I have a 3 burner pitco gas friolator and dont know how to light the pilot any suggestions

First, never light when the pot is empty, you can fill with water if you have no oil. Open the door, check the thermostat and make sure it is turned off.(The burners will light if thermostat is on) Behind the thermostat you will see the gas valve. Turn knob to off, then to pilot. There is a notch at the pilot position. Now look up in the middle behind the burners and you will see the pilot assembly. Push in on the knob on the gas valve while you hold a long lighter close to the pilot assembly. Once the pilot lights keep holding the pilot knob in for 20 seconds. Now let off the pilot knob. Pilot should stay burning. Now turn the gas valve from pilot to on. Now turn the thermostat to desired temp and the burners will fire off and start heating.

Frilator pilot will light but fryer wont fire up

The thermocouple or thermopile is your culprit. If it is not sending the correct millivolt signal to the main part of the gas valve telling it to open then, the burners will not light. This is the cheapest part to start with. If after changing this out & you have the same problem then, you have a bad gas valve.
