Changing the channel

do you know admin user name of router and admin password. What make and model number is router.
On your computer if windows go to dos prompt and type in ipconfig. Note the default gate way ip address and put this into internet browser to log into the router.
it could be 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.0.1 if you can get past the login stage go into Wi FI settings and change the channel it is most likely on auto put it on at least 2 channel numbers higher like 9 if auto starts at 7.
A make and model number may help us find the default user name, password and what the ip address of router may be ?

I am trying to set up my wireless router but when i try to key in my user name;which is admin,it keeps telling me its the wrong username

Are you trying to access the router settings page.
Try admin in the user name and admin in the password.
If that is not working, the password of the router might be changed.
The default password of the router is ' admin ' nothing in the user name ( leave it blank ).
If nothing is working then you will need to reset the router.
press the reset button on the router and hold it down for 30 seconds.
Release he button. wait for 30 seconds. now unplug the power cable from the router.
Plug in the power cable. wait for 1 minute.
Now try to access the router setup page again with the admin password.
Once you reset the router , it will come back to factory default settings.
You will need to reconfigure the router.

I have a DNA-A211-I ADSL2+ Modem. It went fo repair by BSNL and they exchanged it for another. Now I cannot access the user settings (http://192.168.1.1) as the default user name and password were...

hey buddy u need to press the reset button only for 3-5 sec( it look like a hole u have to use a pin to reset it. it is located at the bottom of the modem.) don't press the button more then that otherwise it won't get reset. once it get reset go back to the modem page this try admin as user name & leave the password blank. if case if it doesn't work with that try admin as user name & admin password or admin as user name & password as password.

User name and password

Username: "admin" and Password:"password", unless you changed it. If you did, just reset the modem to the factory settings by keeping the reset button pressed, and admin and password should work again.

Changing display name of router

In an open Internet Explorer window, in the address bar type "192.168.1.1" or you may have to type in whatever your gateway is for your router. This should prompt you for user name and password. typically if you haven't changed these before they should be admin for both or admin for user name and the word "password" for the password. That should open the setting of the router. Under the wireless tab therer will be a spot for you to type an SSID, and a button for you to checkmark if you want the SSID to be broadcast. This will be where you will change the name of your router. If that doesn't work or you are unable to get to the settings of your router let me know and I can give you directions to finding your gateway.
