Depending on the model, it sounds as if you are pressing SNAPSHOT or REC while in VIDEO. Make sure your camera has a still mode.

Try changing the mode to video, and back to snapshots.

you can use snapshot from several video software like Nero. I used CyberLink PowerDirector. You can snapshot any time from the video and save it as image in your pc.

• play the movie and pause it at the frame which you need the photo
• tap " Prtint Screen Key " on your keyboard
• open MSPAINT and click edit and paste it
• it would appear as a picture
• so do the same and save each and everyframe in the same way

You can either buy a cable for it off eBay that will plug into the camera and you computer, then download the software from the Panasonic site, or just buy a $20 media reader from Radio Shack and use that to get the images off your card.

I have the exact same problem - extremely annoying!
