Question about Canon CanoScan 4400f MultiFunction Color Printer

1 Answer

Canon 3000f scanner only produces black pages

Recent change from XP, to new PC with Vista. have uploaded new drivers. Scanner takes a long time to start up, long time to "adjust lamp", long time to finish scanning & save.

Thanks for suggestion however not successful as on Vista already and it blocks download of XP Sp's. The Windows Vista Capability Center advises 3000f is compatable, redirects to Canon USA sight for updates however not successful - image now dark pink/purple & with difficulty can almost be read. Will keep looking

Check to make sure you have the most recent software for your printer. Go to Canon's support website to check for the latest software: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mx_series/pixma_mx300#DriversAndSoftware

If that doesn't work, I've sometimes have had to uninstall a printer and it's software, and then completely reinstall it again for it to work. Hope this helps.

Download the lates drivers from the website first thing. Then install them, then restart your pc. This should fix the problem. If needed reinstall the software and make sure it is allowed through the firewall

The same scan error too.

Hello,

You have to make sure that the scanner/printer driver is installed on the Vista system. Otherwise, it will not be detected. You can obtain the driver from Canon's download page and choose the one for Windows Vista.

My CanoScan 3000F Scanner does not work with Windows Vista. It worked well Windows XP. Is this scanner compatable with Vista? If so do you have a driver available? None are shown on line.

I bought a new computer window vista and i have a flat bed scanner from canon a n650u/n656u and it worked fine with my windows xp but i need an up date driver for it to work with vista can you help me

According to Canon, the CanoScan N650u/N656U is not compatible with Windows Vista.  They have not released a compatible driver.  You could attempt to use a different driver, but that causes the system to become unstable and crash often, if it works at all.  I recommend upgrading to a Vista-compatible scanner.

Scanner problem

I presume your new laptop came with Vista and your old one had XP. Either convert your new laptop to XP (complicated but I wish I'd done it when I got my new computer rather than soldiering on with the indescribable rubbish system that is Vista), or install all the latest drivers, and MP Navigator. loads of the other stuff on the canon installation disk just won't work with Vista. If you have Omnipage SE installed, you will have to get an email link from Canon, whose support website leaves a lot to be desired.
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=334&modelid=10444
Or go to canon europe whose site is not as good (weird to see Canon not going for the simple idea of global support)
I just bought a new full version of Omnipage, but it does annoy me that so soon after buying the MP780 I had to go to all that trouble.
