no because it will only play cd's and dvd's , it cannot record any dvd's or cd's , because it is only a dvd player and vcr tape recorder

you can only record vcr tapes on that model

  • jason Nov 28, 2008

and the vcr tapes can only record tv shows or an input device such as dvd player ( not the one that is part of the combo) , cable , sat. , music, ect.. so you would need a dvd recorder to be able to send the vcr tapes signal to get recorded

Thats ok I don't mind helping you understand! ( just hope its wortha fixya, as the other ratings hurt our scoring)

with the vcr part ( video cassette recorder) you can take an output signal by hooking the yellow output jack and L&R red and white rcs jacks from another source like vcr or cd/dvd player and connecting them to the input on the vcr/dvd combo and then recording the input signal to the vcr tape in your cd/dvd combo

    sorry RCA jacks

Can i transfer vhs to dvd

I haven't been able to use my Emerson EWR20V4 for a long time, but as I recall, the easiest way is to cue the tape to your desired starting point, pause, then hit the record button on the panel's DVD side, let it spool up & start recording, then unpause the tape. If desired, I think you can hit the DVD record button again to set 1/2-hr. increments before the recording will stop.

The VCR has at least four "heads" two are for 2 hr and two for 6 hour (sp and slp)

It is most likely one of the heads used in the SLP mode is slightly blocked with tape debris--heads need to be manually cleaned in the right way.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS IN MY LETTER BELOW.

1. On your remote, find the record mode button; it is near the bottom on the left side. This button sets
the recording speed for the DVR. Faster recording speeds provide higher quality recordings.
2. Look at the display on the front of the machine: it should say XP ( records 1 hour on the disc,)
SP ( 2 hours, ) LP ( 4 hours, ) or EP ( 6 hours. ) You can also set it to record 8 hours on a disc,
but the quality of the recording will be poor.
3 Press the record mode button until the screen displays the recording speed that you want.
4 Note: if the powers fails or the Machine is unplugged, the machine will automatically reset itself to
SP mode.

Vcr to dvd recording

As i recall, +r's will only format in dvd vr, the unit does not like high speed recording disks. switch to dvd drive - insert blank disk - if no format screen - goto (on remote) setup - onscreen menu - system setup - disc setup - new disk format - hit center button in ring on remote to change to vr or move up to reformat as vr. once disk is formatted, use record speed button on remote to set record speed 1,2,4,6 hr then switch to tape deck with tape in and stopped at begining, on remote hit dubbing, it will ask you confirm dubbing vhs-dvd .... toggle over to yes & hit center button... away you should go... c245 is a copyguarded tape.
