Question about E-Machines eView 15s Monitor

1 Answer

No display from VGA adapter.

I have an eMachine t5020 computer with a 480 Watt power supply unit. The other day I tried to install my new nForce 570SLIT-A motherboard with a 8600 GTS video graphics card. The problem I'm having is my Compaq CV535 monitor gives me a black screen when I plug it into the VGA - DVI-I adapter. I don't even have to plug the adapter into the graphics card and when I do it continues to remain black. The motherboard seems to work fine and the computer turns on as well. The only problem is the monitor won't display an image. At all. Connected to the adapter or not. It won't give me an image. So I don't know what's happening or graphics card is working either.

The graphics card won't initialize unless the system passes certain internal checks; most of the time this is caused by the wrong RAM configuration. Make sure the RAM you are using is the right type of RAM for your system; in some cases the system board will still power up with the wrong RAM installed. Then check monitor connection to make sure there are no bent pins on the connector. Furthermore, I'd even check to see if the system boots without any RAM installed.

Monitor power led blinking on and off. Won't turn off unless unplugged. Won't display computer graphics either. Quiet clicking noise each time it blinks off.

If it uses a A/C power adapter aka (power brick) that the first thing I would check.. if you have voltmeter you check the voltage to make sure it's at least rated at or above the sticker value, if not try replacing it. If it uses a standard computer power cord and the power supplies is built-in to the monitor it might be bad or the main board has gone bad. Those most common cause in the that order power supply or mainboard.

Out of range message seen after installed new software and reboot

The monitor will display out of range message because the PC video resolution is too high for the monitor to display, the new software may have changed or corrupt the video seting, try booting up in safe mode (hit f8 while computer booting up) and set the video resolution to 640 x 480, then reboot in regular mode, then reset the resolution to the native resolution of this monitor which is 1280x1024@60Hz.

I have a mac mini osx10.4 with a 512N syncmaster samsung monitor. The monitor worked fine for 2 years and up till the last month while I am on the computer the monitor will go black with a message saying...

samabbott, Toni, The very first thing to check is Samsung warranty.. If not valid you will need to check and see if Samsung has a cash+old unit swapout program for refurbished same model??? Will this 512N do same thing if connected to different pc? If so, then I would suspect the unit's power supply. Whenever strange or weird stuff starts to randomly take place with an LCD display, I would first check the "switch-mode-power-supply"! Have you tested the pc with different Known Good lcd unit? Try the above stuff and report back with a new comment. 12fixlouie
