Question about E-Machines eView 15s Monitor
I have an eMachine t5020 computer with a 480 Watt power supply unit. The other day I tried to install my new nForce 570SLIT-A motherboard with a 8600 GTS video graphics card. The problem I'm having is my Compaq CV535 monitor gives me a black screen when I plug it into the VGA - DVI-I adapter. I don't even have to plug the adapter into the graphics card and when I do it continues to remain black. The motherboard seems to work fine and the computer turns on as well. The only problem is the monitor won't display an image. At all. Connected to the adapter or not. It won't give me an image. So I don't know what's happening or graphics card is working either.
The graphics card won't initialize unless the system passes certain internal checks; most of the time this is caused by the wrong RAM configuration. Make sure the RAM you are using is the right type of RAM for your system; in some cases the system board will still power up with the wrong RAM installed. Then check monitor connection to make sure there are no bent pins on the connector. Furthermore, I'd even check to see if the system boots without any RAM installed.
