Error when trying to copy files to or delete files from ilo 1gb mp3 player
This is a pink 1gb player from walmart. the screen says ver 3.101.103 when plugged in to the computer. When viewed in windows explorer it says MTP Player instead of a drive name. Click on that and it has one subdirectory called Internal Storage. I had loaded this player with songs for my niece, then she asked me to put more on there, so i ran an mp3 resizer to reduce the file sizes (it stored these resized files to my hdd) when i started deleting the files, it got about 3/4 finished then suddenly returned the error: "(filename) could not be deleted. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected." When I try to transfer a file to the player a similar error comes up. I have done the following:
1.Disconnect and reconnect the player.
2.Disconnect the player and remove the battery.
3.Reboot the computer.
4.Attempt to transfer the files with Windows Media Player 10 instead of drag-n-drop.
All to no avail. There is not any other files on the player other than the songs, never was. Question: how do i flash the player with fresh firmware, and for that matter where do i get the firmware? I do not have the disk that came with the player, if there was one...

Re: error when trying to copy files to or delete files...
The Walmart/Asda mp3 players in the uk have the same problem, I have the formatting software on the cdrom that came with it and it doesn't work 'Surprise'.
The problem normally happens when you try to either upload mp3's more than one at a time or delete all at the same time causing a file the folder to become corrupt and stop everything.
Is there possibly a factory reset menu on the player, if not you will have to search the internet for your manufacturer to see if they have an on-line formating tool.

iLO Mp3 Player "Flash Error" 1. Connect the player to the PC using the USB cable. 2. Open Windows Media Player. 3. Go to the Sync or Devices tab and delete all content from the player. 4. Go to the Tools menu and select Options. 5. Select the Devices tab, highlight the ILO or Siren player and click on Properties. 6. Uncheck the box "Create Folder Hierarchy on Device"
I can't delete my songs. I have tried 4 different media player to delete and they all give me an error message. Failure to delete, not responding can't delete etc... What should I do? I have the pink ilo 1GB mp3 player
I had the same problem. I had formatted the player's drive using Windows explorer and the got this error: "File Format error" while trying to play any mp3 file.
I went to the command prompt. Deleted all files:
E:\> del *
Then I copied the MP3 files again in the T.sonic MP3 player. All MP3 files played fine after this.
You might have a virus. Try hooking it up to your computer and clicking on the My Computer link and go to the E: drive link. from there it should say ilo and tell you every file on your mp3 and you can delete the files that way. It should also tell you when you look if there is an error in any of the files.
I hope this was helpful!
OK what that means is that although the Max is 1GB, after FORMATTING & Directory Structure, IE: The "Roadmap" for the disk so the PC etc know how to "Use" it well that "Takes Up" the difference in Bytes. Perhaps there are some programs on it? All Memory like that has this occur. It does seem to me to be a bit "High" but it may indeed be correct.. 1GB = 1024 x 1024
your ILO has somehow lost its file structure. look for a tiny pinhole to reset the device. if none, then remove batteries to attempt reset. if still no songs, then firmware upgrade if possible or copy file structure (using windows) from a friend's ILO.
