My Dell Precision Workstation wont reconize any boot device how do I fix this

This sounds like root kit virus.you need to either remove drive and piggyback to another computer and run a full virus check macafee or kapersky have root kit checkers.or leave it in place and get hold of a Hirens boot disc .this is free multi programmed fix disc and downloadable , just google this.you can then burn it to disc or USB.go to bios to select drive order and then the disc will install a small xp windows version on the ram so the hard drive doesn't need to be involved .test disc is a good program to try when hdd remain unseen , one of the many tools on hirens.this will correct the mft of the hdd which can also prevent it being recognised by windows.

Dell Inspiron 570 with Macafee anti-virus and Win 7 BSOD's trying to uninstall preinstalled Macafee product. Haw can I get rid of it and install another (Norton) product? I have 2 IDENTICAL Dells

LOL, you are going from one terrible product to another one. Norton and McAfee are core hogs, use a lot of resources and will slow your system to a crawl, especially if you let it expire. Why would you want something on your system that is so difficult to uninstall? Give em the boot. Try one of the FREE Antivirus programs such as AVG, AVAST or Microsoft Security Essentials.

Dell did not create this monster, your third party software is the culprit and they just don't deal with it if it's not their product.

Anyway if you tried the normal uninstall by clicking Start/Programs and opening the McAfee Folder and clicking uninstall and you're getting the BSOD, maybe try uninstalling it in Safe Mode With Networking.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn itback on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFEMODE. Take the Safe Mode With Networking option and let it boot up. Safe Mode will lookdifferent to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this isnormal. You can also go into the Control Panel and Uninstall the Program. Click Start/Control Panel look for Program and Features or Programs or Uninstall.
You can try the McAfee Removal Tool. Download and Install it, then run it. The link is below:http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

Installed update arris rndis adapter not working properly cannot locate isp

OK, RNDIS means Remote Network Digital Interface Protocol or something like that. Cannot locate ISP, are you signed up for a remote connection? I don't care yes or no, but if you are, seek out your provider.

Make sure the firewall is not blocking access to the internet. Try turning off the firewall for a while... to test if that is the problem.

Trying to download the Cox Security Suite software. Was told to delete any Macafee on my computer. I did. Clicked on "install Cox Security Suite. A message came up " McAfee Sucuirity cannot continue-...

McAfee's uninstall doesn't work. They know that, so they have a special removal tool that you download and run. The instructions are here: http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507

Follow the directions carefully. If you think it's hard to remove McAfee, try Norton sometime.

I am trying to install macafee and it wont let me sign in.isp has reset

Do you have Internet access. You will need to check this first.
1. Can you browse the Internet or do a search on google
2. Do you have any other virus software installed on your PC? If so you will need to remove this before attempting to install Mcafee
3. Are you installing from a download off the Internet or do you have the software disc.
4. Do you have firewall software enabled

1.a.If you cannot browse the Internet then you will need to check that your modem is working. Turn the modem off and then on again or press the reset button to reset it. You will need to wait up to 2 minutes for it to syncronise with the server again. If you still do not have internet access then you may need to contact your ISP provider for support to reconnect.

2.a. If you already have another version of virus software on your pc then you will need to go into add remove programs and uninstall that software before attempting to install another version

4.a. If you have windows firewall enabled or another firewall software enabled then you will need to turn this off temporarily as this may be blocking the access from Mcafee to access files that it needs to install from the Internet

3.a. If you have downloaded the software from the Internet you may have encountered a corruption in the download process and you may need to download the software again.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or if you have some more information based on the information I have provided you above

Warmest Regards
John

Restting a desktop due to virus or worm

get rid of Macafee, it wont help

restore to the earliest point you can, will minimize the spread of the virus then

use an online scanner like http://www.pandasoftware.com/ActiveScan/
and install
AVG free http://free.grisoft.com
Avast free http://www.avast.com or
FProt
or another av system that works,
Macafee and Norton are definitely counterindicated

system restore should be reset to the maximum disk space allowable, the tweaks espoused by many, of reducing disk space for system restore causes problems like this.
resetting the restore size will not magically replace missing system restore points, they are gone, but will give you more days worth of repair time in future, it will happen again.

When you sign a Internet Service Provider, they gives to you a username and password. These are the ones you have to put in the router.
