Question about Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook
I have a dell inspiron e1505, the screen is not lighting up when plugged in either. how do i fix this?
Hold -FN- Located next to -CTRL- so hold FN and press the up arrow and the brightness will go up.

Sounds like you are having issues with the motherboard since we are talking about a laptop here. However, there is a way on how we can isolate that the motherboard is the main problem. If in case the system would still act the same, call up Dell with the service tag or express service code to have the motherboard replaced.

You might have to replace the Back light lamp or inverter.

could be a case of overheating.
for starters clean the fans with a mild vaccum...
If this doesn't help, the laptop needs to be opened and cleaned up internally, also apply fresh heat release compund to the processor.
That will solve it.
