Acer Screen goes blank when fan comes on...Help!!!

It is likely that the backlight for your screen is faulty or needs replacing. This is not a job you can usually tackle yourself, you will need to take it to a dealer to have the unit repaired.

Hi. This might be an LCD issue or connector inside th LCD from the motherboard is loose. You may try troubleshooting the issue first before you send the computer for repair. This process will drain the remain electrostatic energy to your motherboard which sometime causing the issue. Please follow troubleshooting steps below.

Take out the battery and unplugged the power adapter
Press and hold the pwoer buttong for 30 secs
Put everything back in
Power ON the computer

Please force shut down the unit if it still is on. Then, press the power button and see if it starts up.

If that doesn't work, then please disconnect everything from the unit (Battery and A/C) and Reseat the RAM and recheck.

I'm having the same problem, but I don't want to have to turn off my computer EVERY time it does this. (I have not been able to shut down the laptop normally because it goes into sleep every time.) I've heard that after 3 hours it builds up an eletrical charge and you have to take the battery out, but I havn't had it on for 3 hours at a time.

This must surely be a problem with your monitor, because you say that you see the white screen while boot up. If this is a graphic driver issue, you may have the problem after booting up in windows. Since its been only a month old laptop, the product must be in warranty for sure. Take away any CDs in the drive, any USB drives and see if this white screen appears. Let us know.

Hi,

first try booting the laptop and pressing the Fn key with the numerical ( numbered key ) that has a picture of 2 screens on it. This is for booting to an external monitor. you could also try adding an external ( pc monitor ) this will eliminate any motherboard Faults.

Secondly, the graphics chip driver may be corrupt or not installed correctly. if you have a restore cd, you could try booting the laptop, with the cd in the drive.

you can then try, to see if the settings in the bios are all correct, by booting/starting the laptop and pressing esc or F2 or delete immediately as the laptop starts. ** Be-Careful** what you adjust.
My suggestion is to look for. ** default settings tab** or load setup defaults.

these are the obvious things to try, before assuming that you have a faulty graphics chip or motherboard fault.

Aspire One uses Atom process and its very small. it get hot easly and there is a fan on it also fan is so small. you need to change to fan. take the service.

start your laptop in a safe mode by pressing f8 during booting, the restore your system to a back date where its working fine

It is most likely the connector between the screen and the motherboard that is loose/failing. I would check that first, before taking it in for repairs..

I have the same problem. It happened to me about half a year ago and reinstalling the OS solved it. So it's by no chance a hardware problem. I have a Acer TravelMate 6291. It must be some kind of a software problem, but don't know which one :-(
