Question about HP Compaq ProLiant 1850R Server

No video at all on Compaq ProLiant 1850R

Hi...

I tried turning on a ProLiant 1850R server the other day and, although everything seems to run fine, for some reason there is NO video displayed on my monitor whatsoever. The VGA cable has been fastened and the monitor is turned on yet no video. Could there be an issue with the internal video adapter? Just wondering. Thanks!

Do the server has an onboard Video disable the video in the BIOS setup insert another PCI Video card and check for the display , IF the PCI display is up then there could be a problem with Onboard card.

I need to download the network card driver for that compaq proliant server

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=257770&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=254843&lang=en&cc=us

Then pick your OS and grab the network driver that you need. I see it says it's for the Proliant CL1850 server, but that was the only 1850 model that seemed to show up so I'm going to guess it'll work.

No Display

Boot the machine in Safe Mode. If you have video at that point, change the Display Settings to lower values, reset the Monitor Type to Default and reboot. It sounds like the resolution and/or refresh rates it is attempting to use are beyond the capabilities of the devices.

HP Compaq ProLiant ML150 G3... Problem:

Hi ,
1) This server is a G3 , latest is G5 . It is outdated unsupported equipment.
2) Your continuous beeps on boot up with no video seems to indicate VGA card problem . Just put in another cheap VGA card and retest.
Good luck on solving your problems , hope I have helped you.
